DVD-102S Firmware Update Procedure

1. Connect DVD-102S to Secondary IDE configured as a master.

2. Make a bootable diskette and include the following files:
    ANSI.SYS (whose version corresponds to the Operating System used).
    MSCDEX.EXE (whose version corresponds to the OS used).
    ATAPI_CD.SYS (Pioneer version 3.05, file date 08-07-97).
    UPDVDA2.EXE (file date 06-05-98).
    V110.HEX (file date 10-23-98)

3. Make sure that the DOS driver ATAPI_CD.SYS and the ANSI driver ANSI.SYS
   is loaded via CONFIG.SYS.
     ex. DEVICE=A:\ANSI.SYS
         DEVICE=A:\ATAPI_CD.SYS /D:MSCD001

4. In AUTOEXEC.BAT, make sure that MSCDEX is called.
     ex. A:\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD001

5. Boot the computer using this diskette.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RE-PROGRAM
   THE DRIVE FROM A DOS WINDOW.

6. After the computer completes the boot sequence, issue the following
   command at the DOS prompt:
     A:\>UPDVDA2 /2 V110.HEX

7. DO NOT ABORT THE PROGRAM OR POWER CYCLE THE SYSTEM UNTIL THE PROGRAM
   SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
