The MULTISN2 multiple MultiSound Driver The new MultiSnd2.drv driver is to be used in addition to your installed MultiSound's driver to allow two Turtle Beach MultiSound cards to co-exist in the same unit. At this point we do not have applications which will function with the second MultiSound unit. We suggest taking the audio OUT of MultiSound #2 into the IN or AUX of MultiSound number one. This will allow you as the user to control the volume level of MultiSound #2 with the mixer application of your first multisound. When new applications become available for the second MultiSound, they will be posted on the Beach Comber BBS. When using two MultiSounds for Windows Wave playback. You must use your media player in combination with a program like Wave for Windows which can choose its wave playback device. With these two applications, you will be able to playback and record two wave files at the same time. Just make sure that you have a fast hard drive. Programs like Cakewalk for Windows and Master Tracks Pro are ideal for the dual Multisound approach. Because they support multiple MIDI ports, you have access to two Proteus 1/XR modules, two MIDI IN's and four MIDI out's. Let us know what you think! Have fun! 1. Copy the Multisn2.drv file to your C:\Windows\systm.ini directory. 2. Choose a memory address, port address, and IRQ address form your MultiSound manual that is different from the addresses where your first MultiSound resides (defaults are D000, IRQ=10, and I/O=290. 3. If you are using a high memory manager, place an exclude line in your Config.sys in order to reserve the memory address. For EMM386 the exclude line could look like this... device=c:\windows\emm386.exe noems x=D000-D7FF 4. Edit your system.ini and copy the following exclude statement to the bottom of your [386Enh] section. Make sure that you change the exclude statement to reflect the new memory address of MultiSound 2. EMMExclude=E800-Efff 5. Copy the following section to the [Drivers] section of your System.ini. This setting is assuming that you have no other MIDI or Wave devices installed under Windows. MIDI1=Multisn2.drv Aux1=Multisn2.drv Wave1=Multisn2.drv 6. Copy the next section to the bottom of your System.ini. Make sure that you Change the first three lines to reflect your current hardware settings for MultiSound 2.
