Fusion-MPT (TM) Package - Binary Images ==================================================== Binaries have been generated for use with Red Hat Linux 7.2 for IA64 architecures. These binaries may be used to upgrade a driver without rebuilding the kernel or used to upgrade the driver during install ==================================================== Upgrading the Driver During Installation ----------------------------------------- Step 1: For the version of Red Hat of interest, uncompress the tarball. # tar xzvf redhat_ia64_bin-<driver version>.tar.gz Step 2: Transfer the driver disk image to a diskette using dd or raw-write. # dd if=rh72_ia64.img of=/dev/fd0 Step 3: Boot EFI. Enter the EFI shell and search the mounted file systems (fsXXX:) for the install CDROM (CDROM will appear in the description). Access the file system of interest. For example, if the CDROM is on fs0, then shell> fs0: <press enter> fs:\> will provide access to the CDROM. Then enter the extended Linux loader by typing fs0:\> elilo <press enter> ELILO boot: At the elilo prompt, pressing enter will result in a normal installation. To use a driver diskette, type ELILO boot: linux dd <press enter> Step 4: Continue with normal installation. Step 5: Once installation is complete and reboot is successful, execute the post-installation script. Insert the driver update disk into the ls120 drive. Then mount and execute the post install script. If the ls120 is drive hdc, then # mount /dev/hdc # cd /mnt/ls120.0 # ./post_install.scr # umount /dev/hdc Proceed with normal usage.Download Driver Pack
