Packet driver specification ------------------------------ PPPKT driver provides basic and extended functionality, as defined in "PC/TCP Version 1.09 Packet Driver Specification" of FTP Software, Inc. 2. Packet driver loading and configuration ------------------------------------------ The packet driver's command line: PPPKT [options...] where [options] is one or more configuration options. You can store required options in a file, called "response file". The driver will read options from response file when the following command is used: PPPKT @file A sample response file called SAMPLE.INI is provided with the packet driver. When no options are specified, the driver uses default settings. To customize packet driver's configuration, the following options are used: AS802_3 If this option is specified, the driver reports it is a class 11 (IEEE 802.3) instead of 1. PACKET_INT=hh This option specifies the software interupt which is used to communicate with the driver.Default is 60h. valid numbers are 60h to 6Fh except 67h, and 77h to 7Fh. VERBOSE=1 If this option is specified detailed diagnostic messages will be displayed when the adapter is loaded. Use this option for troubleshooting. UNLOAD Use this option if you wish to unload the driver from memory. To unload the driver use the same keywords you used to load the driver on the command line , with the keyword unload as first parameter. EXAMPLE: PPPKT UNLOAD PACKET_INT=62 3. Troubleshooting ------------------ If you experience problems when loading the PPPKT packet driver, please carry out the following steps before contacting the Technical Support department. 1.) Try and load the packet driver when there is no Card and Socket Services software is loaded on your computer. 2.) Load the packet driver with the option of 'VERBOSE=1' specified on the command line. This will display detailed diagnostic messages during initialization. Please record these messages for use when you contact technical support. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
