Download 1. Click "Download File" to download the file. 2. When download is complete, execute the downloaded file to unzip to your drive. 3. The file explorer will open pointing to the directory containing the download package. Connect to power cable for non-desktop users. 4. Disconnect all external storage devices. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Firmware upgrade through the Windows utility Procedure 1. Go to the "Dell_Win_80004E00" folder. 2. Run "SK Hynix PC401 80004E00 Windows.exe" with administrator privilege (right-click on the executable, then select "Run as administrator"). 3. Select appropriate NVMe driver in your system. 4. Select the target SSD for firmware upgrade. 5. Select "Firmware" tab. 6. Select a target firmware slot. Tool will select a target slot automatically if you don't select. 7. Click "Update Firmware" once confirm. 8. DO NOT interrupt the firmware update. A dialog box will pop up when the firmware update is completed. 9. If reboot is required, click "Yes" to reboot your system. 10. If you select "No", pending slot will be displayed until next reboot. 11. Repeat step 1-5 to check firmware version. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Firmware upgrade using the WinPE utility Procedure 1. Go to the "Dell_WinPE_80004E00" folder. 2. Please refer to "SK Hynix PC401 80004E00 WinPE.pdf" as attached in this download package to prepare a Win10 PE USB bootable drive. 3. Copy "sknvme.exe" into the USB root directory. 4. Boot the system from the USB drive created in Step 1. 5. Using the Command Line Interface(CLI), go to "sknvme.exe" file. 6. Enter "sknvme showdisk" to check whether target SSD is detected. Remember the physical drive [#] number. 7. Enter "sknvme 80004E00 2". 8. Once you see "Firmware download succeeded", enter "2". 9. After successful FW update, reboot the system. 10. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
