1. OEM Name: LSI 2. Product Name: MegaRAID Windows 2000 Driver (MRaid2K.sys) 3. Release Date: 05/18/2002 4. New Version Release: 5.33 5. Previous Version Release: 5.25 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Reason for Release (including Bug Fixes and Enhancements and Feature added) Version#: 5.33 ========= Bugs Fixed: ----------- 1) A single Tape drive was seen at TargetID 0 and TargetID 16 on the physical channel. One can attach up to a maximum of 15 devices on a single physical channel. All the requests coming for a physical channel with TargetID greater than 15 should be returned as Illegal request. This problem is fixed in the Driver. Version#: 5.32 ========= Bugs Fixed: ----------- 1) During Logical drives creation/deletion, sometimes Configuration Utility used to hang as it keeps on waiting for the notification of the drive created/removed. This issue has been resolved in the driver by sending notification to the System Manager about the arrival/removal of a logical drive. Version#: 5.31 ========= Bugs Fixed: ----------- 1) Bug fixed in the Read/Write path, in case of SCSI Channel, with PAE support enabled. Version#: 5.30 ========== Bugs Fixed: ----------- 1) Updated INF file for OEMs. Version#: 5.29 ========= Bugs Fixed: ----------- 1) Miniport driver was scanning Qlogic Chips for 511 controllers. This problem was causing the driver to scan for the Qlogic chips during boot up or during hibernation, which was resulting in the system hang. This problem has been fixed by disabling scan of Qlogic chips for the 511 controllers. Version#: 5.28 ========== Bugs Fixed: ----------- 1) In case of cluster reset, Driver was not waiting for all the commands to complete, resulting in the system crash/hang. 2) Megasign support added to the driver. Version#: 5.27 ============= Bugs Fixed: ----------- 1) In case of reset, driver was not able to complete all outstanding commands to OS, results in lockup in system. This is fixed by purging all the outstanding commands with driver; so OS will retry those commands and system will not lockup. 2) Ghost drive seen when installing Win2k with 5.26 driver in cluster environment. There was a mismatch while calculating the logical drive number. 3) During Tape erase, if Ios are running on the logical disk, the Ios used to slow down. Since Tape Erase is a untagged command, Miniport driver handles this request in a different manner. This special handling overcomes the IO slowdown. Version#: 5.26 ============== Bugs Fixed: ----------- 1) When the MegaRAID Controller is being used as a secondary controller, system hung for the first time whenever it tries to load the driver. This has been fixed. 2) Added support for MultiLun devices such as MultiLun Tapes. 3) Support for 511 IDE controller added. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Features not supported: ======================= 1) No merging of Sequential Reads and Writes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Installing Windows 2000 on a MegaRAID Array =========================================== These installation procedures are for the following MegaRAID controllers: Series 471 - MegaRAID Enterprise 1600 Series 475 - MegaRAID Express 500 Series 493 - MegaRAID Elite 1600 Series 494 - MegaRAID Elite 1650 Series 520 - MegaRAID SCSI 320-0 Series 520 - MegaRAID SCSI 320-1 Series 518 - MegaRAID SCSI 320-2 1) Use the Ctrl-M or WebBIOS utility to configure an array on the MegaRAID controller. 2) Start the installation procedures for Windows 2000 (Bootable Diskettes ONLY). 3) Press the F6 function key when you're prompted on the first blue screen and continue the installation. 4) Select the "S" option to select additional SCSI adapters. 5) Select "Have Disk " and insert the MegaRAID driver diskette and continue Windows 2000 installation. 6) Continue the installation procedures for Windows 2000.
