   Section A:   
   
   Important notice
   ================

   1.  	The PCI modem can be set up on Windows 95 OSR1, 
	Windows 95 OSR2, Windows 98 or Windows NT but no 
	support on WIN3.x platform.

   2.	For MDP7800-U, speaker phone is not supported but it 
	can be used as answering machine.

   3.	For MDP7800-U modem, though the 'Dialer...' button for 
	speakerphone function in Trio DataFax Voice is enabled. 
	However, it is not supported by this modem.

   4.	For information how to use the AT command set, please 
	refer to file Atcomset.doc in the root directory of the 
	installation CD. You can also find it under Windows
	directory of your hard drive after installation of modem
	drivers.

   Section B:
	
   Installation of PCI modem drivers on  Windows 95 OSR1 platform
   ==============================================================

   1.   Win95 will automatically detect the PCI PnP Modem and 
	displays the 'New Hardware Found' dialog box.

   2.   Insert the installation CD provided into the CD-ROM drive.
   
   3.   Select the 'Driver from disk provided by Hardware 
	manufacturer' option and click 'OK'.

   4.   Type D:\Win9x\ in the combo box and click 'OK'.

	
   You might encounter some resource conflicts after loading 
   the PnP modem device (especially when there are non-Plug & 
   Play adaptors installed in your system). To alter the 
   resource configurations, go to Control Panel - System - 
   Device Manager and click on 'Modems'. Choose the modem device 
   and click on 'Properties'. You can change the settings to 
   resolve the device conflict.

   For further details, please refer to Trouble-shooting section 
   in Windows 95.


   Uninstalation
   =============
   Run 'Uninstall MDP7800' inside 'MDP7800 Modem Information' 
   program group.

   Section C:

   Installation of PCI modem drivers on  Windows 95 OSR2 platform
   ==============================================================

   1.   Win95 will automatically detect the PCI PnP Modem after
        which the system will prompt the 'Update Device Driver 
        Wizard' dialog box.

   2.   Insert the installation CD provided into the CD-ROM drive.

   3.   Click 'Next' to let system search for an updated driver.

   4.   Click 'Finish' to use the found driver.
   
   5.   Click 'Ok' when prompted to insert the installation disk. 

   6.   Change path to D:\ and click 'OK'.

   7.   System will then automatically load all the necessary 
	drivers and files needed.


   You might encounter some resource conflicts after loading 
   the PnP modem device (especially when there are non-Plug & 
   Play adaptors installed in your system). To alter the 
   resource configurations, go to Control Panel - System - 
   Device Manager and click on 'Modems'. Choose the modem device 
   and click on 'Properties'. You can change the settings to

   Section D:

   Installation of PCI modem drivers on  Windows 98 platform
   =========================================================

   Installation of modem drivers in Win98 is similar to Win95. 

   1.   Windows 98 will automatically detect the PCI modem. 
	Click 'Next' to continue.

   2.   Insert the installation CD provided into the CD-ROM Drive.

   3.   Select 'Search for the best drivers for your device. 
	(Recommended)' and click 'Next' to continue.

   4.   Enable 'CD-Rom drive' selection and click 'Next' to continue.

   5.   Modem Driver will be found on the installation CD. Click 
	'Next' to continue.

   6.   Click 'Finish' to complete modem installation.

   7.   System will then automatically load all the necessary 
	drivers and files needed.

   You might encounter some resource conflicts after loading 
   the PnP modem device (especially when there are non-Plug & 
   Play adaptors installed in your system). To alter the 
   resource configurations, go to Control Panel - System - 
   Device Manager and click on 'Modems'. Choose the modem device

   1.	Run the setup.exe located at 

	D:\Winnt\7800-u      for MDP7800-U PCI Modem

	D:\Winnt\7800v-u     for MDP7800V-U PCI Modem

	D:\Winnt\7800sp-u    for MDP7800SP-U PCI Modem

   2.  	Follow on screen instructions to finish the installation.


   Uninstallation
   ==============
   To uninstall PCI modem drivers, run setup.exe located at

	D:\Winnt\7800-u      for MDP7800-U PCI Modem

	D:\Winnt\7800v-u     for MDP7800V-U PCI Modem

	D:\Winnt\7800sp-u    for MDP7800SP-U PCI Modem


   Follow the online instructions to finish the uninstallation.

   Section F:

   Installation of Trio DataFax Voice and other applications
   =========================================================

   To install Trio DataFax Voice and other bundled applications 
   , run Inst32.exe. Follow the online screen to proceed with
   installation.

   For further information of Trio DataFax Voice, please refer
   to Relnotes.txt under D:\Trio\TDFV53\ in the installation CD.

   Section G:

   How to install Microsoft Fax in Windows 98
   ==========================================

   If you are staying in US, go to directory 
   D:\Tools\oldwin95\message\us in Windows 98 installation CD.  
   For other countries go to D:\Tools\oldwin95\message\intl 

   1.  	First run wms.exe under the directory to install Microsoft 
	Messaging.

   2.	Next run awfax.exe under the same directory to install
	Microsoft Fax.

   For further information on Microsoft Messaging and Microsoft
   Fax, read wms-fax.txt under the same directory.

   How to change the buzzer volume
   ===============================

   Dial-Up Networking
   ==================
   1.	In the Dial-Up Networking folder, click on the icon for 
	the connection whose properties you want to change.

   2.	On the file menu, click 'Properties'.

   3.	Click 'Configure'.

   4.	Adjust the Speaker volume slider bar to change to volume 
	level desired.


   Phone Dialer
   ============
   1.	In the Control Panel folder, double-click on 'Modems'.

   2.	Click 'Configure'.

   3.	Adjust the Speaker volume slider bar to change to volume 
	level desired.


   Hyperterminal
   =============
   1.	Key in ATL0 for low volume level.

   2.	Key in ATL2 for medium volume level.
	
   3.	Key in ATL3 for high volume level.

   4.	Key in ATM0 to mute the buzzer.

   Section I:

   How to change the modem country profile
   =======================================

   For better modem performance, please set the country profile 
   to the country where you are in. If the country profile is not
   already set to the country where you are in, please do the
   following :

   Windows 95 :
   Go to Control Panel. There is a country select utility called
   'Modem Country Select'. Double click on it. Select the country
   where you are in and click 'OK'.

   Windows 98 :
   Go to Control Panel. Double click on 'Modems'. Highlight 
   MDP7800 PCI modem. Click on 'Dialing Properties'. Select the 
   country where you are in and click 'OK'.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
