INTRODUCTION This utility is designed to perform BIOS reflashing to an upper version for Acer TravelMate 260/220 series. II. HOW TO CREATE A BOOTABLE DISK ************************* Notice!! Important!! ************************* * * * Don't set the bootable disk as "WRITE PROTECT" state during updating. * * * **************************************************************************** There may be two types of source you will get: 1) a ZIP package file, or 2) a source disk with uncompressed files. Please follow the steps to create a bootable disk. Step 1: create a bootable disk. Step 2: copy the following files to that bootable disk. * ANSI.SYS (You can find this file in \windows\command or \windows) General Syntax: copy [source path] [destination path] Example: copy ansi.sys a:\ Step 3: decompress the ZIP file to this bootable disk if you get a ZIP package, or copy all the files to the bootable disk if you get a source disk. Step 4: insert the bootable disk into your system, then boot. III. HOW TO USE THE UTILITY ************************* Notice!! After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
