All rights reserved. This installation guide provides the following information: Installation and Configuration Information for IBM's LAN Adapter Protocol Support (LAPS). Driver Installation Procedure 1. Run LAPS.exe either from the floppy or Hard Drive 2. Choose install if this is a new installation and copy all files to the hard drive. OR 3. Choose the Install button from the bottom of the main menu 4. Insert the Kingston Drivers disk into A: drive when prompted 5. Change directories to A:\LAPS or B:\LAPS 6. The driver will be automatically copied to the hard drive 7. From the Main menu choose configuration. 8. Choose "Configure LAN Transports" from the Configuration window. 9. Click on continue 10. From the Network adapters menu choose the "Kingston KNE20XX ISA Ethernet Adapter" 11. Select Add 12. Highlight the Kingston board in the Current configuration menu. 13. Click on the edit button 14. Select the proper Interrupt Level, I/O Base Address, DMA Channel. These values can be obtained form the AUTOSET program on the Kingston disk . The Network Adapter Address should be left blank unless specified by the Network Administrator. 15. Choose OK 16. From the Configuration Workstation menu click on OK. 17. From the Main menu choose exit. 18. From the CONFIG.SYS UPDATE window Select. Click on EXIT if the Drive specification is correct, if not select configure and choose the correct drive. 19. After Exiting reboot the machine and the new driver will be loaded. Trouble Shooting Guide 1. When loading the driver an initialization error appears, ensure that the card settings match the settings in the protocol.ini. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
