All rights reserved. ================================================================ This directory contains three files: READ1ST.TXT QUICKSET.EXE PSCONFIG.EXE READ1ST.TXT - This file is used to explain how to use QUICKSET and PSCONFIG to install and manage your print servers. It is also used to provide release notes for newer versions of your print server and its utilities. QUICKSET.EXE - This file is an express setup program that configures the print server with default settings. For more information, please quit browsing this file and type "QUICKSET -?" followed by the "Enter" key. PSCONFIG.EXE - This file is a menu-driven utility that provides some equivalent functions as those found in WPCONFIG. To use this program, simply copy it from the CD to any hard drive and run it under the DOS prompt. PSCONFIG.EXE lets you to install your print server using PCONSOLE. When finished with PSCONFIG, use PSCONFIG to inform print server to login to the file server. ================================================================ Installation Guide for Print Server DOS utility 1.0 How to use QUICKSET.EXE to setup your print server 2.0 How to use trace log 3.0 Technical Support ================================================================ 1.0 How to use QuickSet.Exe to Setup your print server 1.1 Connect print cables and network cable to your print server. If using installing the MIO model, insert it into your HP printer/plotter and connect the network cable to your MIO print server. 1.2 Connect power adapter to your print server to power it up or If installing the MIO model, power up the HP printer with MIO print server plugged in. 1.3 Turn on or reboot your workstation and Login to the file server with supervisory rights. 1.4 Insert the utility CD into your PC. Assume that it is inserted into drive d:. 1.5 Execute QUICKSET.EXE. Log on to drive b:, to configure your device to be print server, type: QUICKSET KTnnnnnn followed by a "Enter" key. where KTnnnnnn is the default unit name recorded on the bar code label on the back of the print server case or on the MIO print server board. A status message will appear on the screen. If QuickSet is successful, your print server is installed with default configuration, and ready to service queues P1, P2 and SP, where P1 is for parallel port 1, P2 is for parallel port 2 and SP is for serial port. If QuickSet is unsuccessful, a message will appear to inform you with possible reasons and actions to take. To configure your device to be remote printer, type: QUICKSET KTnnnnnn X followed by a "Enter" key. Where X is the name of the print server to be logged in. Print server will be configured as remote printer(s) to service queues P1, P2 and SP attached by X. 1.6 With the following command, you can send a file to the parallel port 1 of your print server. type: NPRINT your_file_name /Q=P1 /NB /NT /NOTI 1.7 With the following command, you can send a file to the parallel port 2 of your print server that has parallel port 2. type: NPRINT your_file_name /Q=P2 /NB /NT /NOTI 1.8 With the following command, you can send a file to the serial port of your print server that has serial port. type: NPRINT your_file_name /Q=SP /NB /NT /NOTI ================================================================ 2.0 HOW TO USE TRACE LOG psconfig.exe S F D xxxx.log [password] Where xxxx.log log file name, without xxxx.log ,default is trace.log. Without correct password ,log file will be encrypted. ================================================================ 3.0 TECHNICAL SUPPORT INFORMATION Accessing the Kingston BBS for the Latest Information The Kingston BBS can be accessed by using a modem and a communications program to call the BBS at 714-435-2636. Communications settings are no parity, 8 data bits, and 1 stop bit (xxxxx-N-8-1, where xxxxx is your modem's maximum speed). When you have logged on to the BBS, check the "Public" section for updates or other new Ethernet PC Card information. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
