This document contains release notes for BIADMIN Utility.
BIADMIN Utility provide a simple way to management your Print
Server and Printer Attached.
1.0 Starting BIADMIN
BIADMIN allows the user to make all Print Server configurations
in the Windows environment. When BIADMIN is executed, it
automatically searches the network for all active Print Server
devices and displays a device list. All active network Print
Server devices are listed with their default name, device name,
network number, and printer port configurations.
1.1 Default Name (Default device ID)
The default name is the alphanumeric character string
(KTXXXXXX) found on the bottom label of the Print
Server unit.
1.2 Device Name
The device name allows you to rename the Print Server
using a friendly name, such as "Marketing". If the
Print Server has been configured as a print server
under Novell NetWare, then the device name will be the
Print Server name.
1.3 Printer Ports
The printer port information tells you how many ports
the selected device supports:
3 Parallel Print Server Model KNP103X
1 Parallel Print Server Model KNP101X
1.4 REFRESH
This function is used to update the active Print Server
device list. It can also be used to discard all the
configuration changes not yet saved to the device.
1.5 STATUS
Status has two options: Device Information and Printer
Port Status.
1.6 Device Information
This provides some static information including the
Print Server unit's Firmware version, Ethernet address,
IP address etc. It also provides dynamic information
including NetWare Print Server status or Remote Printer
status.
1.7 Printer Port Status
This is a very useful feature which allows users to
check the current printer and printer port status at
any given time.
1.8 CONFIGURATION
This function can be used to view and change the current
configuration of any selected Print Server unit.
1.9 PRINTER ATTACHED
This function can be used to view and change the current
configuration of any selected Printer attached to the
Print Server unit.
1.01 DIAGNOSTIC
Diagnostic provides two options: Print Test Page and
Reset Device.
1.02 Print Test Page
This option allows users to test the connections between
Print Server's printer ports and printers by printing
a diagnostic report. The diagnostic report contains
the Status Device Information mentioned previously.
1.03 Reset Device
This option allows you to reset the selected device
from your workstation or terminal.
1.04 HELP
