KINGSTON TECHNOLOGY DATA TRAVELER DT200EX "READ.ME" FILE

OVERVIEW
Congratulations on purchasing Kingston Technology's Data Traveler DT200EX.
A high performance external removable hard disk, DT200EX provides your system
with unsurpassed disk portability.

The most popular uses of Kingston's Data Traveler include:
1. Sharing information between systems
2. Easily increasing disk capacity
3. Fast, efficient data backup and recovery
4. Accessing large amounts of information (when using more than one Data
    Carrier)
5. Security purposes (removing Data Carrier to avoid unauthorized use)

By simply plugging Data Traveler into your parallel printer port,
running the installation program and formatting the disk, you can begin
accessing the many benefits of reliable, high performance removable storage.

INSTALLATION
By inserting the utility diskette in your 3.5 inch floppy drive
and typing "install", you can begin the simple installation procedure. After
you answer the prompted questions in the install program, the only step
remaining is formatting the Data Traveler data carrier (2.5" hard disk in
removable enclosure). Formatting and partitioning is detailed in the
enclosed Data Traveler installation manual. Please be sure to read the
manual completely to insure correct usage and installation.

DTPARK
A very important feature of Kingston's Data Traveler is the "DTPARK" command.
The DTPARK command needs to be run prior to removing the Data Carrier from
Data Traveler. DTPARK is needed to access Data Traveler's innovative
QuickSwap feature, which enables Data Carriers to be removed and inserted
into Data Traveler without running system setup. Running DTPARK will:

1. Park the drive heads for safe transportation
2. Flush the cache (if using a drive utility such as "SMARTDRIVE") to the
Data Traveler drive to insure that all data is securely saved prior to
    removal

"DTPARK" can be initiated at either the primary drive or the Data Traveler
drive. For more information on "DTPARK" consult the enclosed Data Traveler
manual.
