Installing to Windows 2000 In order to run Vyzex MPD24 in windows 2000 there is some additional setup work required and the understanding that a separate MIDI interface will be required to connect MPD24 under Windows 2000 DO NOT CONNECT MPD24'S USB INTERFACE UNDER WINDOWS 2000: YOUR COMPUTER WILL BLUE SCREEN CRASH AND POSSIBLY CORRUPT YOUR HARD DRIVE. SEE EXPLANATIONS BELOW. Inside the Vyzex MPD24 installation there will be two folders: Microsoft.VC80.CRT Microsoft.VC80.MFC The contents of these two folders must be copied to the Windows\System32 folder. In addition, you need to install the gdiplus.dll from Microsoft. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=6a63ab9c-df12-4d41-933c-be590feaa05a&displaylang=en and download GDIPlus. Expand the file into the same Windows\System32 folder. You should now be ready to run Vyzex MPD24, but DO NOT USE MPD24's USB cable to connect to a Windows 2000 machine. Windows 2000 does not support the class compliant MIDI driver used by MPD24 - Users of this OS must employ a separate MIDI interface with a windows 2000 custom driver and connect MPD24 through this MIDI interface!
