Identification If you have a Gateway notebook computer with a wireless solution that is listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section below, and you are running Windows XP, install these drivers. Installation 1. The files extract to the C:\Cabs\D00508-001-001 folder. 2. From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 3. In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then double-click the System icon. 4. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager. 5. In Device Manager, under Other Devices, double-click Network Adapter, and then click Update Driver. If the driver has been installed previously, then under Network adapters, double-click Intel(r) Pro/Wireless 3945 ABG Network Connection, and then click Update Driver. 6. Click Install from a list or specified location (Advanced), and then click Next. 7. Click to clear the Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM...) check box, and then click to select the Include this location in the search check box. Type the location where you downloaded and extracted the wireless driver files, and then click Next. The default path of the drivers is C:\Cabs\D00508-001-001\Drivers for Windows XP. 8. Windows identifies the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 ABG Network Connection. Click Next. 9. Click Finish. Alternate Installation 1. From the Start menu, click Run. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\D00508-001-001\Autorun.exe. Click OK. 2. Choose Install Software 3. In the License Agreement dialog box, click tccept the terms of the license agreement, and then click Next. 4. Verify that Typical is the option selected, and then click Next. 5. Click OK to install default components. 6. Files copy. 7. Installation is complete. Click OK. Removal 1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then double-click the System icon. 3. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager. 4. In Device Manager, select Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 ABG Network Connection, and then on the Driver tab, click Uninstall. Troubleshooting If you have difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers. Reason for Update This is the initial driver release. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
