Installing ICC Profiles


1. Overview

 ICC profiles compatible with the type of media supported by your printer 
 will be installed. 
 The ICC profiles are convenient when you want to use optimal profiles 
 (in the printer driver and various applications) for the type of media 
 you are using and the desired print quality.

 Note:
 - Some ICC profiles are installed automatically during installation of the 
   printer driver and Media Configuration Tool.
 - Individual profiles may not be compatible with all types of media.
 - You must be logged in with administrator privileges to install an 
   ICC profile.

2. Installing an ICC Profile

 Windows:
 In Install Individual Software of the "User Software CD-ROM", click Install 
 of the ICC profile to create a folder named iPFxxxx_ICC_profiles on your 
 desktop.

 The iPFxxxx_ICC_profiles folder or the folder created by decompressing 
 the ICC profile downloaded from the Web site contains the following files.
  - ICC Profiles(.ICC)
  - Compatibility chart for ICC profiles and types of media 
    (iPFxxxx_ICCprofile_English.pdf)
  - Readme_English.txt (this file)

 Right-click the ICC profile, and select Install Profile.

 - Microsoft Windows Server 2003,Microsoft Windows XP and 
   Microsoft Windows 2000 users 
   If the "Uninstall Profile" message appears, 
   cancel the operation and copy (overwrite) the relevant 
   ICC profile to the following folder: 
   * Windows system folder/System32/spool/drivers/color/

 - Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and 
   Microsoft Windows Vista users 
   Select "Install Profile" and then copy (overwrite) the 
   relevant ICC profile to the following folder: 
   * Windows system folder/System32/spool/drivers/color/

 Macintosh:
 On the "User Software CD-ROM", select the ICC profile check box and execute 
 to create a folder named iPFxxxx_ICC_profiles on your desktop.

 The iPFxxxx_ICC_profiles folder or the folder created by decompressing 
 the ICC profile downloaded from the Web site contains the following files.
 The iPFxxxx_ICC_profiles folder contains the following files.
  - ICC Profiles(.ICC)
  - Compatibility chart for ICC profiles and types of media 
    (iPFxxxx_ICCprofile_English.pdf)
  - Readme_English.txt (this file)

 Copy the ICC profile to the folder below:
   * /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
