usage:
=============

fwupgrdtool <filename> <ownerpassword> <options>
<filename>          - the filename must be the first parameter
<ownerpassword>     - the owner password must be the second parameter
<options>:
 NONE               - launches the firmware upgrade tool GUI
 /? or /h           - displays help screen
 /b                 - batch mode (no user prompts)
 /i                 - returns the base TPM ROM code version
 /v                 - returns the current version of the firmware installed in TPM
 /k                 - creates endorsement key
 /ho                - returns if TPM has owner
 /to                - takes ownership
 /ro                - release ownership
 <filename> /rst    - reset to USH
 <filename> /rsts   - reset to SBI
 <filename> /sbi    - file to be loaded into SBI
 <filename> /scd    - file to be loaded into SCD (clearscd.bin)
 <filename> /scd1   - file to be loaded into SCD1 (clr512.bin)
 <filename> /nrst   - don't issue reset prior to loading file

1. fwupgrdtool - launches the firmware upgrade tool GUI
2. fwupgrdtool /I - returns the base TPM rom code version to the calling
   utility.
3. fwupgrdtool /V - returns the current version of the firmware installed
   in TPM.
4. fwupgrdtool /K - creates endorsement key
5. fwupgrdtool <firmware upgrade filename> - upgrades firmware using
   <firmware upgrade filename>
6. fwupgrdtool <firmware upgrade filename> /b - upgrades firmware using
   <firmware upgrade filename> in batch mode (ie, no user prompts unless
   the upgrade fails)
7. fwupgrdtool /K /b - creates endorsement key in batch mode 
   (ie, no user prompts.)
8. fwupgrdtool /? to display this help screen
9. fwupgrdtool <SBI filename> /sbi- upgrades SBI using
   <SBI filename>
10. fwupgrdtool <SBI filename> /b /sbi - upgrades SBI using
   <SBI filename> in batch mode (ie, no user prompts unless
   the upgrade fails)
11. fwupgrdtool <SCD filename> /scd- Clears SCD using
   <SCD filename>
12. fwupgrdtool <SCD filename> /b /scd - Clears SCD using
   <SCD filename> in batch mode (ie, no user prompts unless
   the upgrade fails)
13. fwupgrdtool <SCD1 filename> /scd1- Clears SCD1 using
   <SCD1 filename>
14. fwupgrdtool <SCD1 upgrade filename> /b /scd1 - Clears SCD1 using
   <SCD1 filename> in batch mode (ie, no user prompts unless
   the upgrade fails)
15. fwupgrdtool <filename> /RST - resets the USH to BCM via TPM.  Must enter an existing file filename.
    The file specified will do nothing, it will just be used to bypass some initial file checking logic.
16. Added a parameter /nrst (no reset), which will supress the initial reset to SBI prior to flashing file.
17. fwupgrdtool /ho - returns 0 if TPM has owner; returns 3 if TPM has no owner.
18. fwupgrdtool /to - will take TPM ownership.
19. fwupgrdtool /ro - will release TPM ownership (used in conjunction with "fwupgrdtool /to").

The command line use of the firmware upgrade tool returns following return 
codes and their meaning is as follows:

0           Firmware upgrade succeeded
1           Firmware upgrade failed
2           Firmware upgrade did not start
            because password was missing
3           Firmware upgrade did not start
            because the platform does not have a TPM owner.
4           Endorsement Key creation failed.
5           Missing DLL.
6           Missing TPM Driver/Service.
7           Authentication Error
8           Missing File
9           Invalid Parameter
10          Error Taking ownership
0x108       A1 chip version
0x020A      A2 chip version
other       current firmware version

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
