A) Install NDIS 3.0 driver to the WFW 3.11 The drivers named 
   MXNICF.386 contained in the directory WFW311.

    NDIS 3.0 Driver Installation on Windows for Workgroups 3.11
    -----------------------------------------------------------

    1. Run Windows by typing WIN from the DOS prompt.

    2. Click the "Network" icon in the Main Program
       Group.

    3. Click the "Network Setup" icon from the Network window.

    4. Select "Drivers" item from the Network Setup dialog box.

    5. Select "Add Adapters" item in the Option dialog box.

    6. Select "Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter" when the
       Install driver field appears.

    7. Type destination drive and path name in your PC.
       Make sure the full path of the directory (i.e. A:\WFW311)
       is given.

    8. Insert the MXIC adapter driver diskette in your floppy drive
       and press <Enter> to start the installation process.

    9. When the "Macronix MX987xx Family Fast Ethernet WFW 3.11 Driver
       Disk" dialog box appear.  Select the installed adapter from the
       adapter:
                Macronix MX987xx Family Fast Ethernet Adapters.

    10.Follow screen instructions to complete the process.

    11.Restart your computer.

B) Setup driver parameter on WFW311.

    Only one parameter can be set in driver installation & reconfiguration.

    - Media Speed: default is Auto Detection.

      Speed AutoDetect: start NWAY function to perform media speed detection
                        during driver initialization.

      TX 10Mbps     : media speed is set to 10 Mega bits per second.

      TX 10Mbps Full-Duplex :media speed is set to 10Mbps full duplex mode.

      TX 100Mbps    : media speed is set to 100 Mega bits per second.

      TX 100Mbps Full-Duplex :media speed is set to 100Mbps full duplex mode.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
