                 MX987xx 10/100 Ethernet Adapter
               SCO UnixWare 7.x Driver Installation
              =======================================

      Before you start with the installation process,  make sure that
      SCO UNIX system is properly installed and your adapter 
      is properly installed in your machine.

     1. Insert Macronic driver diskette in floppy drive A: 

        Use 'scoadmin' utility to mount your floppy drive

     2. Copy Macronix driver package file to UnixWare.

        copy mx98pkg to /tmp

     3. Run 'pkgadd' utility to add the driver software to system.

        # pkgadd -d /tmp/mx98pkg
         => Select "1  MX987xx" to add the driver package to the system.

     4. Use 'scoadmin' utility to add an adapter.

        # scoadmin
         => Select "Networking" and press enter.
         => Select "Network Configuration Manager" and press enter.
         => Select "Add New Lan Adapter" menu item from "Hardware".
         => Select "Macronix MX987xx" from the item list.
         => Add protocol(s) to the adapter.

     5. Return to the command prompt.

     6. Shutdown the system and reboot.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
