This PostScript Printer Description file ('PPD file') is 
for Adobe PageMaker 6.0/6.5/7.0 ('PageMaker').

This PPD file allows for printer-specific printing options to be set 
when printing from PageMaker.

        How to Install the PPD file
===============================================================================
(1) Copy the PPD file to the folder
   .With PageMaker6.0:     (PM)\RSRC\PPD4
   .With PageMaker6.5/7.0: (PM)\RSRC\(Language)\PPD4

 (PM) is used to indicate the folder where PageMaker is installed.
 (Language) means the folder for the language used by PageMaker.
 (For example, if using the US Version, the (Language) folder is "Usenglish".)

  Note) The PPD4 folder doesn't exist if no PostScript
        printer is installed prior to installing PageMaker.
        Please be sure to install a PostScript printer before installing 
        PageMaker.
        To learn how to install a PostScript printer,
        please refer to PageMaker's operating manual.

(2) Start PageMaker

        How to Print
===============================================================================
(1) Open the Print dialog using [File] - [Print].
(2) Select the target model from the [PPD] dropdown menu.
(3) Switch to the [Print Features] settings by clicking the [Features] button.
(4) Select the desired printer-specific printing options.
(5) Click the [Print] button to print.

        Notes
===============================================================================
1. As mentioned in the [How to install PPD file] section, the PPD4 folder doesn't 
   exist if no PostScript printer is installed prior to installing PageMaker.
   Please be sure to install a PostScript printer before installing PageMaker.
   To learn how to install a PostScript printer, please refer to PageMaker's 
   operating manual.

2. [Automatically select] is not an available option for the Paper Source setting.
   A specific tray must be selected (default is [Tray 1]).

3. TrueType fonts included in an object that is inserted using the [Insert Object]
   function may not be printed correctly.

4. Sample Print/Locked Print/Hold Print/Stored Print/ 
   The Store and Print/Document Server functions cannot be used with this PPD. 
   Also, print date and time information is not added to the print data.

5. Even if PageMaker is set to use a custom paper size and the trays are setup 
   correctly, the custom papersize is not used to print. Instead, [Automatically 
   select] is used to print the document.
   To print on the custom papersize, please place the paper in the [Bypass Tray] 
   and used the printer panel to force print ("Form Feed").

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
