If the following error message is displayed, the KODAK Photo Printer Calibration Utility must be installed in order to perform printer calibration. "The KODAK Photo Printer Calibration Utility could not be launched. Please install the calibration utility. See the printer's User Guide for more information." The KODAK Photo Printer Calibration Utility can be installed from the same CD that came with the printer having the driver installer. Image Color Management (ICM) control becomes disabled ----------------------------------------------------- When clicking on Cancel from the Advanced dialog and then re-entering the dialog will display the ICM controls as disabled (even though you can still interact with them). Loss of communication if the USB cable becomes disconnected ----------------------------------------------------------- If the USB cable becomes disconnected during printing, the printer may not recover without intervention. Allow the printer to complete all pending prints before you reconnect the USB cable. Once the printer completes printing, reconnect the USB cable. If the printer does not resume printing any print jobs in the queue within several seconds, you must remove and restore poser to the printer. Once the printer initializes, it should resume printing any jobs remaining in the printer queue. If a multi-page print job was transferring to the printer when the USB cable became disconnected, the spooler will reprint all pages of the print job when resuming printing. This may result in the printing of duplicate pages. ******************************************************************* * * * D R I V E R T I P S * * * ******************************************************************* Changing the picture used in the 'Adjust Color' preview windows --------------------------------------------------------------- If the image used in the 'Adjust Color' preview window does not suit your needs, you can change it to a more appropriate image. The image must consist of a valid BMP file, preferably of less than 500KB. Optimally, the picture should measure 168 x 183 pixels (width x height), although the software will scale the image to use as much of the window as possible. There exist two options to change the default picture. Option 1: Rename your new image to EK6800_preview.bmp and copy it into the appropriate folder as shown below. Unless you save a copy of the original image file this operation will overwrite it. On 32-bit operating systems, copy the new image file to the following folder: c:\"windows folder"\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3 where "windows folder" is typically named "Windows" On 64-bit operating systems, copy to the following folder: c:\"windows folder"\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 where "windows folder" is typically named "Windows" Option 2: Copy your new image BMP file (using any file name you choose) into the appropriate folder as shown below. On 32-bit operating systems, copy the new image file to the following folder: c:\"windows folder"\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3 where "windows folder" is typically named "Windows" On 64-bit operating systems, copy to the following folder: c:\"windows folder"\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 where "windows folder" is typically named "Windows" In the same folder where you copied the new image file, edit the EK6800.ini file so that the "File" keyword in the "Image Preview" section indicates your new image file name. Use only the file name if the image file, not its complete path. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright (c) 2003-2007 Eastman Kodak Company.
