Introduction
============

USB To Ethernet Adapter is designed to connect USB-equipped a desktop,
notebook, or USB hub to an Ethernet network. It performs the same function
as traditional Network Interface Cards without opening up the PC and installing
the card. A USB-equipped PC can simply connect an Ethernet network with this
USB To Ethernet Adapter, users can share files between computers, use printers
and Internet access, send and receive e-mails, access CD-ROM/backup drive
attached to others PCs, etc.

Hardware
========

* LED indicators

The LED indicators include Link and Ready.
LNK: The LED is on when there is an active Ethernet connection.
RDY: The LED is on means that the host is connected ready.

* Connectors

It consists of 1 RJ-45 and 1 USB B-type ports.

RJ-45 Port:
This port is used for connection to an Ethernet 10BASE-T network.

USB B-type Port:
This port is used to connect the USB B-type connector of the USB cable in
conjunction with USB-equipped desktop PC / Network



Installation
============

Step 1.
Plug the USB To Ethernet Adapter into USB connector of PC, Windows 98 prompts
"New Hardware Found" window.

Step 2.
This "Add New Hardware Wizard" window means that Windows 98 is attended to
search a suitable driver for the USB To Ethernet Adapter.

Step 3.
Windows 98 prompts you to decide the way of driver installation. Choose
"Search for the best driver for your device" and then click "Next" button.

Step 4.
Insert driver diskette to floppy A:, and choose "Specify a location", and type
in "a:"

Step 5.
Windows 98 finds the driver of the USB To Ethernet Adapter, then click "Next".

Step 6.
Windows 98 prompts you to insert diskette again, just click "OK".

Step 7.
Windows 98 prompts you to locate the device driver "USBENET.SYS", please type
in a: and make sure that your driver diskette is in floppy A:, then click "OK".

Step 8.
Windows 98 finishes installing the software for the "USB To Ethernet Adapter",
click "Finish".

Step 9.
Windows 98 prompts you to restart your computer, click "Yes" to finish driver
installation.

Notices:
=======
Please don't swap continually before the host finishes detecting when the
USB To Ethernet Adapter is connected to the host or other devices;
otherwise the system will shut down and reboot.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
