Dated: June 02, 2000 PM 16:27, updated: June 13, 2000 AM 10:00

Purpose: This is the new LPR driver and software which could be installed,
configured and used in Windows NT and 2000 systems with firmware
    version above 8.5.
Here also has the new firmware version 9.0 (beta) supported for
IPX/SPX, NetBEUI and TCP/IP network protocols.

Files:
    1. PEAdmin.exe: 2,034K bytes, new LPR driver and installation software.
    2. DOS.exe: 257K bytes, compressed upgrade software for NetWare user.
    3. PS3pROM.bin: 512K bytes, firmware file for 3 ports printserver only.

Notes:
** 1. You do not need to upgrade your firmware from version above 8.5 to
use this new LPR driver and software.
That is, it is not necessary for you to upgrade to this new firmware
version 9.0 (beta) to use and install with new LPR driver in Windows
        NT and 2000 system.
    2. This new firmware version 9.0 (beta) will remove support for the NDS.

Steps for using new LPR and software file in Windows NT and 2000 systems:

    1. This first step is NOT a MUST step!

If your current firmware is version above 8.5, you do not need to
upgrade your firmware from version above 8.5 to 9.0 to use with
        this new LPR driver.
       Please just skip this step.

If you are using the Windows 9x, NT or 2000 systems, please first
use your original configuration Utility to upgrade the firmware to
        version 9.0 (beta file, PS3pROM.bin).
If you are using NetWare network, please use DOS utility (extracted
from DOS.exe) to upgrade firmware of printserver first in NetWare
        IPX/SPX compatible network.
Here we will use the Windows 2000 systems for this settings. So is
the same steps for Windows NT systems.

    2. After firmware upgrade finished or maybe you do not need to upgrade
the firmware, you should restart the printserver and connect your
        printserver to your LAN.

** 3. Make sure that your printserver is working now and it could be pinged
and connected with old configuration utility first before any other
        things could have been done.

Maybe you should also first configure the printserver to fit into
        your LAN.

The printserver should be always powered on and working before
installing software of new LPR driver and in all the rest steps.

Please check and make sure again.

** 4. Uninstall TCP/IP printing service (old LPR driver) and configuration
utility software installed on Windows NT or 2000 system, then reboot
your Windows NT or 2000 system.

    5. Run PEAdmin.exe to install new utilities for printserver, include
Network driver (New version of LPR driver).
At this time, it will need to search and find that printserver in
        your LAN.
You will need to choose the printserver and Alias name, network port
of your printserver, and then finish this installation.

    6. Run the new PrintServer Configuration in PrintServer Utilities
        program group.

You may have the chance that you could not connect printserver right
away. Please be more patient to turn off the power of printserver
for a while then on, and then try to connect printserver again to
make sure that the printserver could print the Test Page.

    7. Run the Network Ports Quick Setup in PrintServer Utilities program
group, move all printer port from the Available Ports in left side
to Choosen Ports in right side.
If the printer port is already in the right side (for 1 port
        printserver), just leave it there.
       Configure Port if needed.

    8. Add your printer in the Printers on Settings program group.
Click Next to add Local Printer (with check box below unchecked),
        then Next.

    9. Select the Printer Port in box of Use the following port in Window
2000 system or Available ports in Windows NT system, and you
will see the ports of printserver as PSB00EC6-P1 to -P3 there.
       Then, Next.

   10. Add Printer Wizard will appear for you to Choose your printer
        driver, ....
Print the Test page to see whether the printer driver have been well
        installed or not.

   11. Finish the settings while the Finished button shows up.

   12. You could print now in your Windows 2000 and NT systems.

   13. You could now easily follow the way in old user's manual to install
other Windows 95 and 98 systems.

Notes:

1. Current LPR driver for firmware version 8.5 on our software package
CD-ROM is used only for Windows 9x systems.

The Windows NT 4.0 system also has its own LPR driver embedded in the
system as TCP/IP printing service. Therefore, you need only to install
the TCP/IP printing service in "Network" configuration panel and choose
to use the LPD server's IP address and LPT port while adding new printer
 in the Printer configuration panel.

Please refer the quick installation guide in PDF file format under
document directory on our software package CD-ROM for more information.
