CardBus is supported only in Windows 95 OEM Service Release#2 (OSR2 or version
4.00.95b) or Later. Version 4.00.950 and 4.00.95a do not support CardBus.

1. How to determine your version:

(1)  Click on the Start

(2)  Select Settings

(3)  Select the Control Panel

(4)  Double-click on the System icon

(5)  Select General tab. The system version will be displayed


2 Installation Procedures for 4.00.95 or 4.00.95a:

(1)  Insert CardBus Fast Ethernet Card to the PCMCIA slot

(2)  Click Start

(3)  Select Settings

(4)  Choose Control Panel
     The Control Panel opens

(5)  Double-click on Network icon
     The Network icon opens

(6)  Click Add
     The Select Network Component Type window opens

(7)  Double-click Adapter
     The Select Network Adapters opens

(8)  Click Have Disk
     The Install From Disk window opens

(9)  Insert CardBus Fast Ethernet Driver Disk

(10) With A:\ in input box, click OK
     The Select Network Adapter window opens

(11) Select the "CardBus Ethernet 10/100 Adapter manual load"

(12) Click OK

(13) The Network window reopens

(14) Click OK
     The dialog box appears displaying various settings, Use the Up or Down
     arrow to adjust the settings until the asterisk disappears

(15) Click OK
     The Copying Files window opens

(16) Insert original Windows 95 CD

(17) Restart the computer


3 Installation Procedures for OSR2:

(1)  Inside Windows 95, insert CardBus Fast Ethernet Card into PCMCIA slot

(2)  In Windows 95 "New Hardware Found" dialog box, select "Driver from
     disk prodived by hardware manufacturer"

(3)  Type in the path name A:\ and insert Installation diskette into drive A:

(4)  Complete the Window 95 PCMCIA installation procedures and go to
     Control Panel and select the "network" icon.

(5) Add the Client or Services you needed

(6) Restart the Windows 95 system.


How to update the driver:

Before update the driver please plug the PCMCIA card into PCMCIA slot.
There are 3 steps of procedures to update a LAN driver of Win 95.
  .Delete device registration
  .Delete the Driver file


1. Delete device registration
   1.1 Double click the "System" Icon in "Control panel" Window
   1.2 Press the "Device Manager" button
   1.3 Double click "Network Adapters" to list the devices
   1.4 Select the device and press "Remove" button
   1.5 Press "OK" to confirm device removal


2. Delete the driver file
   2.1 In DOS command mode, change directory to "\windows\system"
       if your Win 95 is installed in "\windows"
   2.2 Delete the LAN driver. You may use "dir *.sys" to see the driver file
       name first

After the file deletion, return to the Win 95 windows mode. Remove the PCMCIA
card and plug in again. The "New Hardware Found" dialog box should appear and
start the driver installation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
