   The D-Link DFE-650 Fast Ethernet PC Card provides the capability for any 
Windows CE v2.0 handheld PC (H/PC) to connect to a local area network(LAN).

<> How to Install Drivers:

   Step 1. Connect your Host PC to your H/PC via the serial cable by 
	   selecting Start/Programs/Communication/PC Link.
   Step 2. Running Setup.exe file from floppy to install D-Link DFE-650 Fast
	   Ethernet PC drivers.
   Step 3. Setting Network Configuration (see as follows).
   Step 4. Insert D-Link DFE-650 Fast Ethernet PC Card to H/PC.
   Step 5. Reboot H/PC.



<> Setting D-Link DFE-650 Fast Ethernet PC Card Network Configuration:
   A. Using static IP addressing:
        Step 1. Tap Start/Settings/Control Panel/Network icon.
        Step 2. Make sure D-Link DFE-650 Fast Ethernet PC Card is
                highlighted.
        Step 3. Tap on Properties.
        Step 4. Make sure under the IP Address tab.
        Step 5. Select the radio button is checked for Specify an IP address.
        Step 6. Key in IP Address & Subnet Mask & Default Gateway address.
        Step 7. Tap under the Name Servers tab.
        Step 8. Key in DNS and WINS address.

   B. Using static DHCP:
        Step 1. Tap Start/Settings/Control Panel/Network icon.
        Step 2. Make sure D-Link DFE-650 Fast Ethernet PC Card is highlighted.
        Step 3. Tap on Properties.
        Step 4. Make sure under the IP Address tab.
        Step 5. Select the radio button is checked for Obtain an IP address
                via DHCP.
        Step 6. Tap under the Name Servers tab.
        Step 7. Key in DNS and WINS address.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
