MOUSE.TXT Driver File Contents (tosmouse.exe)

The Toshiba Real-Mode DOS Mouse Driver is designed to support DOS
applications to utilize functionality of the Accu-Point PS/2 mouse on the
Toshiba notebook computers. The mouse driver should be installed on
a system with Windows 95 installed. Note that the Toshiba Real-Mode DOS
Mouse Driver does not support the DOS box in Windows 3.1 or Windows for
Workgroup 3.11.

To install the mouse driver, use "Add/Remove Programs" under Windows 95
Control Panel. The installation procedure copies the driver MOUSE.COM
and the readme file MOUSE.TXT into WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and updates
DOSSTART.BAT in WINDOWS directory such that mouse driver gets loaded
automatically when the system goes into real-mode DOS. The recommended
methods to enter real-mode DOS are:

  * through shutdown into DOS mode.
  * through MS-DOS prompt icon. Go into the "properties" page and select
"Program" then press the "Advanced" button. Select MS-DOS mode with
the option to use the current MS-DOS configuration.

After the mouse driver is installed by using "Add/Remove Programs"
described above, the Toshiba Real-Mode DOS Mouse Driver gets loaded when
real-mode DOS is entered by the above methods. Then DOS mode applications
can be run to utilize the mouse functionality.

To de-install the mouse driver, simply type "MOUSE" at DOS command line
from WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. If the driver is de-installed successfully,
the message "Mouse driver is de-installed" is displayed. Otherwise, the
message "Cannot de-install mouse driver" is displayed.

Note that AUTOEXEC.BAT should not be modified to load the mouse driver
on a Windows 95 system. If DOS mode is entered by pressing F8 key when
the system boots up, the mouse driver will not be loaded automatically.
In this case, the mouse driver needs to be installed manually. To install
the mouse driver manually, type "MOUSE" at DOS command line from
WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. The message "Mouse driver is installed" is
displayed if installation is successful. If the mouse driver cannot be
installed because another mouse driver is present, the message "Other
mouse driver is present. Please remove it first then try to re-install."
because there is no available TSR ID, the message "No TSR ID available.
Cannot install mouse driver" is displayed.

There are no command line options available for configuring the Toshiba
Real-Mode DOS Mouse Driver.
