         NetWare Remote Boot ROM Installation Guide

Installation Procedure:
-----------------------

Following example is excuted on Protocol Ethernet_802.2 and Server driver is
MX32ODI.

Step 1: Using the steps booted from drive A (see DOS ODI Readme.TXT).
        Create the Autoexec.bat in Drive A as:

        lsl
        mx32mlid
        ipxodi
        netx
        f:
        login



Step 2: After you booting from Drive A, do following actions:

        In Server
        :Load rpl frame=ethernet_802.2
        :bind rpl to MX32odi


        In Workstation
        F:>cd\system
        F:SYSTEM>dosgen
        F:SYSTEM>copy net$dos.sys f:\login
        F:SYSTEM>logout

Step 3: Power Off your PC, remove Diskette from Drive A, and Power On
        again.




Install BOOTCONF.SYS
------------------------
1. Rename the NET$DOS.SYS(can use any name you want).
2. Create BOOTCONF.SYS in SYS:\LOGIN directory if you have multiple boot
images. The BOOTCONF.SYS file format is as below:
Node ID Number = Boot images files

Example: Sigle Boot Images
0x0000f8000001 = ne2000.sys
0x0000f8000002 = MXIC.sys

Example: Multiple Boot Images
0x0000f8000001 = ne2000.sys MXIC.sys
0x*,* = ne2000.sys MXIC.sys   (All the node)

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
