                 ACCTON TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION
                EN2220/EN2225 Fast EtherCard-32
10/100 Fast Ethernet CardBus PC Card

Thank you for purchasing the Accton EN2220/EN2225 CardBus PC Card.
Accton has done everything to ensure that our adapters are compatible
with the widest range of notebook and laptop PCs possible.
As a company, we are equally committed to customer satisfaction and timely
response to the needs and concerns of our customers.

To use the Accton EN2220/EN2225 Fast Ethernet CardBus PC Card, you must have
a notebook computer equipped with a CardBus controller and the
CardBus sockets. Many of the notebook computers on the market today
have PCMCIA sockets that accept 16-bit PCMCIA cards only. Even though
the PCMCIA card sockets and the CardBus sockets look the same on
the outside, the Accton EN2220/EN2225 CardBus Card will not work in those
notebooks with only 16-bit PCMCIA card support.

A CardBus socket on a notebook computer can accept either the 32-bit
CardBus card or the 16-bit PCMCIA card. However, on some notebooks
the sockets are configured to work with only one type of cards at a
time. If the sockets in your notebook are configured to be in the
Intel 82365 compatible mode (i.e. 16-bit PCMCIA mode), you should run
the setup utility that comes with the notebook to change the mode to
32-bit CardBus mode.

1) Supported Environments
   ======================

With this release, the following environments are supported:

   -DOS ODI Driver (ACCMLID.COM)
   -DOS NDIS2 Driver (ACCNDIS.DOS)
   -Packet Driver (ACCPD.COM)
   -Diagnostic and test program (ACCTEST.EXE)
-NDIS3 Driver for Microsoft Windows NT (Ver. 3.51, 4.0) (ACCNDIS.SYS)
   -NDIS3 Driver for Windows 95 (ACCNDIS.SYS)
Windows 95 versions 950 and 950a do not have plug-and-play support
for CardBus cards. In these systems you have to install the EN2220/EN2225 as a
legacy (non-plug-and-play) card. Starting from Windows 95 version
950B (OSR2), plug-and-play for CardBus cards is included. It is our
recommendation to upgrade Windows 95 to a version that has CardBus
support to take advantage of the full capabilities of EN2220/EN2225.
   -NDIS4 Driver for Microsoft Windows 98 (ACCNDIS.SYS)

2) MS-DOS Card Enabling Utility - CBOPEN.EXE
   =========================================

CBOPEN.EXE is the EN2220/EN2225 enabling program for the MS-DOS operating
system. Before you can use any of the DOS mode drivers, such as the Novell
DOS ODI driver, the NDIS2 driver, the packet driver, or the ACCTEST.EXE
test program, you have to execute CBOPEN.EXE to enable the EN2220/EN2225
   first.

For example, to execute the EN2220/EN2225 Diagnostic and Test utility,
ACCTEST.EXE, you have to follow this command sequence:

      CBOPEN
      ACCTEST

To execute the EN2220/EN2225 Novell DOS ODI driver, ACCMLID.COM, and to log
on to a Novell server, you have to follow the next command sequence:

      CBOPEN
      LSL
      ACCMLID
      IPXODI
      VLM

For further details on how to use CBOPEN.EXE, please consult the
   \CBOPEN\CBOPEN.TXT file.

3) Machine compatibility List
   ==========================

Currently, we have tested EN2220/EN2225 on the following machines.
Test on other machine models is in progress.

      Notebooks:

        1. IBM ThinkPad 760 series
        2. Toshiba Tecra series
        3. NEC PC9821 Nr15
        4. DELL Latitude XPi CD
        5. Digital HiNote VP Series

Extension boards with the following PCI-to-Cardbus Bridge controllers:

        1. TI PCI-1130, PCI-1131
        2. Ricoh RL5C466, RL5C476
        3. Cirrus PD6832
        4. SMC 34C90
        5. O2Micro OZ6836

4) Known Limitations
   =================

     1. For Windows NT version 3.51 and 4.0, and Windows 95 version 950
and 950a, since these systems do not have native CardBus Card
support, it is up to the user to configure the correct IRQ,
I/O port values, and interrupt routing style for EN2220/EN2225.
Please refer to \WINNT\WINNT.TXT and \WIN95\WIN95.TXT for more
information on how to assign the correct configurations.

     2. The Windows NT 4.0 driver does not function on the HP OmniBook
        5700CT notebook.

     3. On Digital HiNote VP 575, if EN2220/EN2225 is in the lower slot,
the CBOPEN.EXE has to be executed twice to recognize the card.
In other words, you have to execute the fillowing command sequence:

           CBOPEN
           CBOPEN u
           CBOPEN
