		   Accton Technology Corporation
		   EN2218 Ethernet + Modem/Fax PC Card


    < I > This multi-function Ethernet + Modem/Fax PC Card can be used under
	  PCs with or without Card Services (CS) and Socket Services (SS).
	  The Card Information Structure (CIS) in this card will identify
	  itself as MODEM card and can be recognozed by CS/SS once inserted.
	  Standard communication can be used afterwards.
	  Lan function can be enabled by running attached client network
	  drivers. The client network drivers can check PC environment to
	  get necessary resource from CS if CS installed. No seperate point
	  enabler is necessary. Please refer to USER'S Guide for details.


    < II > Software Installation Hints

	  1. For those who installed EMM386.EXE in your CONFIG.SYS, please
	     exclude a range of memory from your system. Card Services
	     will use this space to allocate specific resource to different
	     PC Cards.


		Example 1: DEVICE=EMM386.EXE NOEMS X=D400-D5FF

			This example excludes 8K bytes from EMM386.  This
			is the bare minimum for most Card Services to work.

		Example 2: DEVICE=EMM386.EXE NOEMS X=D000-DFFF

			This example reserves 64K bytes of memory for
			Card Service.  This will be sufficient in most
			cases.

	   2. For those who installed Card and Socket Services device drivers
	      in yours CONFIG.SYS. You may use the Card Services Super Client
	      drivers to recognize the PCMCIA cards by adding or editing the
	      library files. Or you may use the client network drivrs to
	      activate the PC cards included in this diskette.

		DEVICE=PCMCS.EXE (Card Service driver)


   < III > For the Ethernet PCMCIA Card to work properly, please follow the
	    instructions:

	  1. Check which  Network OS (NOS) your machine uses.

	  2. Read the file "HELP.TXT" in the driver disk and modify the
	     system information files, such as "AUTOEXEC.BAT", "CONFIG.SYS",
	     "PROTOCOL.INI", if necessary.

	  3. copy the proper network driver(s) from driver disk to the desired
	     directory.
