1. Introduction ---------------------------------------------------------------

imagePROGRAF Status Monitor is a software utility that monitors the status of 
the printer and manages print jobs. The Status Monitor contains two screens: 
the "Printer List" lists the printers, and the "Status Monitor" shows the 
specific details about each printer.

imagePROGRAF Device Agent Manager automatically synchronizes the ink type in 
the printer with the printer driver ink information. For more information on 
stopping imagePROGRAF Device Agent Manager select Programs in the Windows 
Start menu, open Device Agent Manager in imagePROGRAF Status Monitor and refer 
to the help.

3. Precautions During Installation -------------------------------------------

- For more details about installation and uninstallation procedures, please 
  refer to the user manual.

- Before executing installation or uninstallation, be sure to shut down all 
  software applications.
  You cannot install or uninstall with the imagePROGRAF Status Monitor running.

- After uninstallation, the install directory may remain.
  If there are files in the installation destination folder that are not 
  managed by imagePROGRAF Status Monitor, these files and folders are not 
  deleted.

-  You must log into Windows as an Administrator before the installation.


4. Cautions, Limitations and Restrictions -------------------------------------

Note the following limitations when using this software.

- You must deactivate the block on the relevant software in the Windows 
  firewall function to use imagePROGRAF Status Monitor or imagePROGRAF Device 
  Agent Manager.
  For more information on the Windows firewall function, refer to the Windows 
  help or the Windows manual.

- imagePROGRAF Status Monitor may not operate correctly with a terminal server 
  when several users are logged in with the same user name.

- More than one Status Monitor cannot be opened for a printer connected 
  through local port.

- When using an 
  BIJ1300/BIJ1350/BIJ1350D/BIJ2300/BIJ2350/N1000/N1100/N2000/N2100/W2200
  connected through a local port, if you attempt to acquire the device 
  information with the Driver Properties function while imagePROGRAF Status 
  Monitor is acquiring the printer status information an error will occur. 
  If the imagePROGRAF Status Monitor attempts to acquire the printer status 
  information while the Driver Properties function is acquiring the device 
  information an error will occur.

- While NetSpot Job Monitor is running for a printer connected through a local 
  port, the imagePROGRAF Status Monitor can neither execute printing nor 
  acquire the printer status information for the same printer connected 
  through a local port.
  If this occurs, shut down NetSpot Job Monitor.

- In a NetSpot Accountant Client Module Ver.3.1 or lower environment with 
  either a standard installation of NetSpot Accountant Client Module, or while 
  NetSpot Suite Service is running, the imagePROGRAF Status Monitor can 
  neither execute printing nor acquire the printer status information for a 
  printer connected through a local port.

- The Status Monitor cannot be opened for a shared printer.

- While more than one Status Monitor is open for a printer connected to a 
  network, even if the status of the printer changes, the change may not be 
  reflected in all the open Status Monitors at the same time.

- When either the Status Print or Nozzle Check Print is executed, the 
  BIJ1300/BIJ1350/BIJ1350D/BIJ2300/BIJ2350/N1000/N1100/N2000/N2100/W2200 
  will go offline after the print is finished.

- If a print job is cancelled with the Status Monitor for a printer detected 
  from the "TCP/IP" or "NetWare" mode display in the Printer List, only the 
  print job inside the printer is deleted. There may be print job remaining in 
  the computer, so you will need to delete this data manually.

- The size of the print job inside the printer is not displayed.

- The imagePROGRAF Status Monitor may stop operating temporarily if it
  attempts to acquire The Status of an IPP connected printer that is
  switched off.

- To open the Status Monitor for a printer connected using IPv6,
  a compatible printer driver must be installed. 

- If you are using the printer in the NetWare environment, note the following 
  points:

(1)To use the imagePROGRAF Status Monitor on a computer, you must have genuine 
   Novell client software installed.

(2)NDPS connection is not supported.

(3)imagePROGRAF Status Monitor does not support cases where more than one 
   print servers or print objects are related with one print queue.

(4)In the NetWare environment, you temporarily may not be able to perform 
   Pause, Resume or Delete functions of the print job from Status Monitor.

(5)In a NetWare environment, you might not be able to Pause, Resume, or Delete 
   a printjob from the Status Monitor.

(6)The Accounting function does not run in NetWare environments.
   Start the function from a TCP/IP or USB connection.

- You may need to change the settings of your anti-virus software to use the 
  email notice function.
  For details on changing the settings of your anti-virus software, 
  ask your network administrator or refer to your software guide.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
