Accton SmartEnabler Installation FOR SCO UNIX README.TXT This file Installation procedure file SCOLSEN.TAR Accton SmartEnabler driver for SCO UNIX tar format ------------------------------------------------------------------ Note for Scenic 500/700: Pleas set your notebook BIOS Plug and Play OS to NO. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.0 Installation for SCO5 enabler from tar file 1.1 To install the Accton SmartEnabler from file to SCO5: ----------------------------------------------------------- 1. Go to the /tmp in Unix system. cd /tmp <Enter> 2. Copy the scolsen.tar file from the DOS diskette to /tmp directory: doscp a:scolsen.tar scolsen.tar.Z <Enter> 3. uncompress the file: uncompress scolsen.tar.Z scolsen.tar <Enter> 4. package installation diskette ( floppy A) #dd if=./en166xdriver of=/dev/rfd0135ds18 <Enter> (Note: Use another device file name if you use different floppy drive) Now the package installation diskette is ready for installing. 5. Install the smart enabler using the custom command custom <Enter> Note: This driver for SCO will auto-detect the installed NE2000 or (nat0) driver and set the IO and IRQ accordingly. If the NE2000 or nat0 is not installed it will set the IO and IRQ to default values at IO=0x300 and IRQ=5. Note also: Please remove the old driver before installing the new one. Please make sure your notebook configuration will NOT conflict. After running the custom utility and the new package is installed, you should use the "netconfig" command to add the driver into your system like the step 6 below. 6. Run "netconfig". Add the desired chain. The NE2000 driver are called: Remember the nat0 must be configured first, before any other driver is configured. 7. When the chain has been configured, select 'q' from the netconfig menu. and relink the kernel at the prompt. 8. To active the adapter, you must reboot. When the system boots, you should see the following message among the other configuration messages: %natn0 0x0300-0x0319 3 - type=NE2000 addr=00-00-e8-xx-xx-xx with the appropriate I/O addresses, IRQ, Adapter Type and IEEE address. The display of last three bytes of IEEE address depends on the adapter currently plugged onto your system. 9. If you encounter any problems during installation, (i.e., an error message appears on screen) call your dealer for assistance.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
