How to download new firmware to SXP1216WM-A and SXP1224WM-A Web Managable switch.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Note: A) The switch must already have at least firmware v2.00 to 
           be able to enable the Upload firmware festure.
           If you have a version lower than v2.00, contact your nearest
           dealer or distributor to have it upgraded.
        B) This firmware DOES NOT apply to SXP1216WM or SXP1224WM


1) Power OFF switch. Set the DIP sw pin #1 and #2 to DOWN(OFF) position.

2) Power ON switch. Within the first 30 second, set DIP sw pin #1 to UP(ON) position.

 * Note: If after 30 seconds and DIP pin not set, the main code
         will load and normal web management page will start.

3) When Upload Firmware page is activated, the switch will take on the following defaults:
     o - Management port IP addr = 192.168.100.128  
                     Subnet MAsk = 255.255.255.0
     o - No password to logon.
             
     So the PC will have to set to an IP address 192.168.100.xxx where xxx can be
     any number from 1 to 254 except 128 

4) To access the management port do one of the following:
    1) Use a cross-over UTP cable and connect from PC directly to the switch management
       port at the back
   OR 
    2) Use a stright-through UTP cable bring the management to any of the 24 front ports.
       Then use another straight-through connect the PC to any of the 24 front ports.
 
5) Startup the web browser at the PC. Enter the switch IP address. 

6) When connected, the firmware upload page will display.
   Enter the drive, path and image filename of the new firmware.
   Click Update to start the upload. 

7) After a about 1 minute, an upload message will display. 
   Reboot the switch then verify the new firmware is running.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
