The installation for the NDIS driver for Windows 95 is menu driven
through the Windows 95 interface. The directory structure provided on the
driver diskette has been setup for automatic OEM installation. The file
"netrl100.inf" is the setup file in the root directory used by Windows 95.
Follow the guidelines in the Microsoft Windows 95 manuals for more details.


INSTALLATION GUIDE:

Installation in Windows 95 Release Version 2 (with Internet Explorer)
ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ

 1. Find an empty slot in the computer and plug in the network adapter.

 2. Start up the computer and boot up with Windows 95.

 3. Windows will automatically detect the RL100TX PCI adapter.

 4. Insert the driver disk in drive A and click NEXT to install the
    driver then click Finish when prompt.

 5. Windows will copy the necessary files fomr the Windows 95 cd-rom

 6. When completed, click RESTART WINDOWS

 7. Rl100TX PCI adapter is now ready to service the network.


Installation in Windows 95 First Release Version (without Internet Explorer)
ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ

 1. Find an empty slot in the computer and plug in the network adapter.

 2. Start up the computer and boot up with Windows 95.

 3. Windows will automatically detect the RL100TX PCI adapter.

 4. Insert the driver disk in drive A and select the option;

       "Driver provided by manufacturer"

    click OK

 5. When prompt, enter A:\

 5. Windows will copy the necessary files from the Windows 95 cd-rom

 6. When completed, click RESTART WINDOWS

 7. Rl100TX PCI adapter is now ready to service the network.

 1. Find an empty slot in the computer and plug in the network adapter.

 2. Start up the computer and boot up with Windows 95.

 3. Go to Control Panel and click on "Add New Hardware".

 4. Proceed and choose the "Network adapters" from type of hardware dialog box.

 5. Windows will prompt for type of network adapter.  Choose "Have Disk".

 6. Insert the driver disk to floppy drive and enter A:\

 7. Choose from the list of options of RL100TX/10Base PCI Fast Ethernet Adapters.
    Available options are:

 8. Supply disks/CD-ROM to Windows 95 to complete copying of all setup files
    required by Windows 95.

 9. After copying the required files, Windows 95 will prompt for a restart.
    Choose to restart the computer for the driver to take effect.

10. The NDIS driver should now take effect.  You can configure the network
    settings from "Network" in Control Panel.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
