3. NEW IN THIS RELEASE

3.1 Version 7.62 May 2002
      * Introduction of driver variants
Variant 2 has been defined for two purposes:
        1. to identify NDIS 5.1 drivers (NDIS 5.0 has variant 1)
Note that NDIS 5.0 and NDIS 5.1 are covered by NDIS 5
        2. to identify NT4 Softex drivers (NT4 has variant 1)
Variant 2 drivers have a 'B' appended to the filenames
        listed above.
Future variant 3 will have a 'C' appended.
Variant 1 has no 'A' appended.

      * For each OS a multi-brand INF file is generated.
As the name suggests, a multi-brand INF file contains
the card characteristics of various brands.
Multi-brand must not be confused with Combined, the latter
representing the card characteristics on various OS’es
        for one brand.
      * Various inconveniences w.r.t. Japanese help files
and screen texts have been resolved
      * Stability issues have been resolved for
        the Control Panel Applet
      * Firmware 8.42 is used in the driver.
        - Initial value for CurrentTXRate is 11 Mbps i.s.o. 2 Mbps.
        - Led behaviour has been modified:
          Power led off: radio disabled
Power led continuously on: radio enabled
Power led flickers every 100 ms: radio enabled and
                                              power management ON
          Activity led off radio disabled
Activity led flickers once per 10s: radio enabled
                                              but no network found
Activity led flickers every 100 ms: radio enabled and
                                              Rx/Tx activity

4. INSTALLATION NOTES

4.1 Standard Installation
Please refer to the 'Getting Started Guide' or 'User's
Guide' that came with your product.

During installation, after giving driver path and NT files
path, the network installation will ask the user to reboot
the system. This only appears to be a problem when a clean
install of the OS is done and network components are
    installed for the first time.

You can resolve this error by answering NO
to the first question to reboot the system after installing
the driver files. Only reboot the system after the Network
    Install Wizard has Finished.

4.2 NT4 Softex Installation
When using the Softex driver for NT4.0 (variant 2 contains
a dedicated driver and a dedicated inf file) the Softex software
    is required.
Softex is a PC Card wizard to allow for a Plug-and-Play look
and feel on NT4. For more information, please check
the Web Site www.softexinc.com for Softex PC Card Controller.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

5. TECHNICAL CONSTRAINTS

5.1 Compatibility with Station Functions Firmware on the Card.
This version of the driver requires the Station Functions
firmware on the Card to be version 6.04 or higher.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

6. KNOWN ISSUES

6.1 "Wireless" Add/Edit profile does not appear upon installation

The "Wireless" driver requires Windows NT Service Pack 4 or
    higher.

In case you are running SP3 or lower, your Windows NT system
does not provide the Windows system DLLs required to make the
    Add/Edit profile window work.

You can resolve this error by either:
    * Installing Microsoft Windows NT Service Pack 4 or higher
      (SP 6 is recommended),
    * (Re-)installing the latest Client Manager.
