| INTRODUCTION |
----------------
The installation for Compex WavePort/WL11 PCMCIA and PCI adapter in Windows XP is
menu driven through Windows interface. The directory structure provided on the driver diskette has been setup for automatic installation.
The file "NETCW10.INF" is the setup file in the root of drive A:\ that Windows executes
during installation.
Refer to Microsoft Windows XP manuals for further details.
WINDOWS XP Installation
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
Most system comes with pre-installed Windows XP.
This installation steps assumed your PC has Windows pre-installed.
1) If your PC or notebook is already started up, simply insert the WL11
wireless adapter into the PCMCIA or CardBus slot your PC adapter or notebook.
2) When Windows 'Add Hardware Wizard' will automatically detect and found
the new PCMCIA device and display the message,
"OEM-PRISM2_IEEE_802.11_PC-Card "
Insert WavePort/WL11 driver disk in floppy drive A and click NEXT button.
3) The Add New Hareware Wizard screen display the following:
What would you like to do ?
_/ - Automatic search for a better driver (Recommended)
o - Specific the location on the drive (Advanced)
Recommended to select 'Automatic search for a better driver' option.
To continue click Next button.
4) Windows then let you mark on one or more of the following
_/ - Floppy Disk Drive
o - CR-ROM
o - Specify a location
Check the "Floppy Disk Drive" option and enter A:\
Then click NEXT,
* Hint:- If you have not inserted the driver disk after you click NEXT,
insert the WL11 driver disk and click BACK button to back
step once then click NEXT button again to read the disk.
5) Windows will display the following;
"Compex WavePort/WL11 11Mbps PC-Card Adapter"
OR if PCI card,
"Compex RE11WL-PCI Wireless LAN PCI Adapter"
Click NEXT, to start copy the driver.
6) Windows will contiune to copy all related files from Windows 2000
CDROM. Upon finished, click the Finish button.
Installation of Compex WavePort/WL11 adapter completed.
Procees to install the wireless utility. To install run SETUP.EXE from disk 1
The utility will look for more files in disk 2. Insert it when prompted.
Recommended to let the utility install with its default setup.
Click Next or OK when prompt to complete the installation.
Click Restart Windows when prompt.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
