Wiring requirements for the UTP cable:
-------------------------------------
FL1000-T PCI adapter use all 4 pairs of the UTP cat 5 cable for communications.
The recommended wiring of the cable is a shown below.
For normal connection to a switch straight-through cable connection is use.

FL1000-T Gigabit LAN adapter parameters explaination
----------------------------------------------------

1.Network Media:
The network media field is used to set the data speed and duplex
capabilities of the card. When auto-negotiate is enabled, these are
suggested values. When force is chosen, these are the settings of the card.

2.Pause Control:
The pause control field controls how pause frames are used. Pause
frames are used to control network congestion. If TX flow control is
enabled, pause frames may be sent from the adapter. If RX flow control
is enabled, pause frames may be received by the adapter
When auto-negotiate is chosen, the driver sets the phy to advertise the
appropriate pause capabilities during auto-negotiation. After learning
the results of the auto-negotiation, the driver sets the appropriate
pause capabilities as per the forced section above. The PHY should be
  set in the following manner.

                                         PAUSE(D7) ASM_DIR(D8)
         no flow control 0 0
         tx flow control 0 1
         rx flow control 1 1
         synchronous flow control 1 1

3.Receive Buffers:
This option sets the number of buffers allocated in the memory for use
by the adapter while receiving packets. Decreasing the number of
buffers reduces the memory requirement of the adapter."

4.Transmit Buffers:
This option sets the number of buffers allocated in the memory for use
by the adapter while transmitting packets. Decreasing the number of
buffers reduces the memory requirement of the adapter

5.Packet Size(Maximum):
This option sets the maximum allowed packet length. Larger packet
sizes may result in substantial network performance gains. However,
they are not compatible with adapters and network hardware that can only
accept standard packet sizes. All adapters and network components in
the local network must support larger packet sizes to use this feature.

6.IEEE Compliant Link:
This option should be set to "NO" if the link partner does not comply
to the IEEE 802.3 specifications for 1000BASE-T network adapters. This
is often characterized by an intermittant connection and can occur with
  older gigabit ethernet hardware.

7.Addr:
A valid MAC address in this field will overwrite the MAC address
assigned to the adapter by the hardwares.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
