   Workstation for Netware Client 32 for DOS and Windows

   Introduction:
   -------------
   This document describes the procedure to setup the NetWare Client 32 for
   DOS and Windows driver for RealTek RTL8019 Plug & Play ethernet adapter.

   Location of Driver:     \NWSERVER\4X\PNPODI.LAN  (32-Bit rcommended)
                        or \NWCLIENT\DOS\PNPODI.COM (16-Bit)


   Setup Procedures :
   ------------------
      Before you start with the installation process, make sure that
      the  adapter is properly installed and configured.

      Run INSTALL.EXE from the "NetWare Client 32 DOS and Windows" Disk.

      The NetWare Client Install program screen will appear.  You must
      complete each of the questions.  These options are specific to your
      needs.

      1. Select "32-bit LAN Drivers" while "Select a LAN Driver Type" is
         appeared.

      2. Choose "USER SPECIFIED 32 BIT DRIVER" in "32-Bit Network Board
         Drivers" screen.

      3. Insert the RTL8019 driver diskette to drive A:, and enter the path
         A:\NWSERVER\4X.

      4. Choose the "RealTek RTL8019 PnP Ethernet", and press <Enter> to
         continue the Installation process.


   Setup the NetWare Client 32 Driver Manually
   -------------------------------------------

      1. Insert the RTL8019 driver diskette into drive A:.

      2. Copy A:\NWSEVER\4X\PNPODI.LAN into your NetWare Client 32
         directory, for example, C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32.

      3. Edit the STARTNET.BAT in your NetWare Clinet 32 directory.
         The following is a sample of STARTNET.BAT :

              SET NWLANGUAGE=English
              C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\NIOS.EXE
              LOAD C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\LSLC32.NLM
              LOAD C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\CMSM.NLM
              LOAD C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\ETHERTSM.NLM
              LOAD C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\PNPODI.LAN FRAME=ETHERNET_802.2
              LOAD C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\IPX.NLM
              LOAD C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\CLIENT32.NLM


   NOTE :
   ------
      1. Installing Multiple LAN Adapters:
         The keyword "EtherID" is the ethernet address of a adapter. This
         keyword is provided for multiple LAN adapters in a single server
         by the driver PNPODI.LAN.  So, add EtherID in LOAD commands. For
         example:

         LOAD PNPODI EtherID=0123456789AB FRAME=Ethernet_802.2 NAME=LAN_A

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
