Main Features of the Utilities] This utility allows monitoring and changing default values as well as managing jobs stored in hard disks of Kyocera Mita printing systems from the PC. [2. Operating System Requirements and Notes for Installation] - Please update your operating system with the latest Service Pack in order to maintain reliability. - With some printing systems, this utility is unable to communicate via LPT and COM port. 2-1. For the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system - Cannot install to the server operating system. 2-2. For the Microsoft Windows 2000, or Windows XP operating systems - Cannot install to the server operating systems including Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Windows 2000 Datacenter Server. - Administrator rights are required for installation. <Notes when connected to LPT, USB or COM> - If you are connected via LPT, USB or COM, please verify that a Kyocera Mita KX driver has previously been installed. The utility cannot be used if a Kyocera Mita KX driver has not been installed. <Notes when connected to network> - Please verify that TCP/IP or the IPX protocol is installed. - You cannot print or delete jobs wity an IPX connection. IPX will only display the list of jobs. 2-3. If so, please update to Microsoft Internet Explorer to 5.01 or higher. Q: Cannot connect to printing system. A1: If the printing system is connected to LPT, USB or COM: In order to connect with LPT, USB or COM, a Kyocera Mita KX driver needs to be installed. Please verify whether your current operating system complies with section [2. Supported Environment and Notes during Installation] With some printing systems, this utility is unable to communicate via LPT and COM port. A2: If the printing system is connected to a network: When connecting a printing system to a network, the TCP/IP or IPX protocol needs to be installed. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
