NOTE.TXT Driver File Contents (m600n.zip)

     Please follow the steps below to get the lattest BIOS into your MB600N board :
     
     (1) Identify the Super IO chip on your MB600N.  Most likely it is
     UMC Super IO chip for earlier shipment.
     File with name suffix "S" is for SMC IO. (eg.60915-s.rom)
     File with name suffix "U" is for UMC IO. (eg.60915bug.rom)
	
     (2) Save the proper file BIOS file as AMIBOOT.ROM (renamed) to your HDD. 
          
     (2) Copy this file to a floppy diskette. Put to drive A:.
     
     (4) Powerup your MB600N system unit, while pressing down both the 
     "Control" and the "Home" keys on the keyboard.  The floppy disk will start 
     reading the BIOS file data from the floppy disk, until it ends with some 
     beep sound.
     
     (4) Turn off the machine, then turn it on again while pressing the "End" 
     key on the keyboard. You may see some kind of error message on the screen, 
     but it is normal.
     
     (5) At the bootup screen, press "Del" key to go into CMOS Setup, then load 
     the "Optimal" Setup parameters. 
     
     (6) Save the CMOS Setup parameters, then re-boot.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
