Overview
========

NVSPBIND is a tool for modifying network bindings from the command line. It is
useful in Server Core environments with the Hyper-V role enabled. NVSPBIND can
be used to set bindings for NICs used in Virtual Networks. It can also enable
or disable specific bindings on any NIC.

NVSPBIND utilizes the INetCfg APIs documented on MSDN
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms805265.aspx).

To get help run “nvspbind.exe /?”

Usage Notes
===========

Usage: nvspbind.exe [option] [NIC|*] [protocol|*]

Options:
-d disable binding of specified protocol from specified NIC(s)
-e enable binding of specified protocol to specified NIC(s)
-f show full bind path
-n NIC information only

If no option is specified, it will display a list of NICs in the system and
which protocols are enabled and disabled on the NIC. For example:

  {84126140-2922-4128-B4D6FAF842C78267}
  "pci\ven_8086&dev_10f5&subsys_20ee17aa"
  "Intel(R) 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection":
     enabled:  ms_netbios       (NetBIOS Interface)
     enabled: ms_server (File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks)
     enabled: mfe_firehk (McAfee NDIS Intermediate Filter)
     enabled:  ms_psched        (QoS Packet Scheduler)
     enabled: ms_msclient (Client for Microsoft Networks)
     enabled:  ms_netbt         (WINS Client(TCP/IP) Protocol)
     enabled:  ms_tcpip         (Internet Protocol (TCP/IP))
     enabled: ms_ndisuio (NDIS Usermode I/O Protocol)
     enabled: ms_pppoe (Point to Point Protocol Over Ethernet)

You can specify the NIC either by GUID (“{84126140-2922-4128-B4D6FAF842C78267}”
in this example) or DisplayName (“Intel(R) 82567LM Gigabit Network connection”
in this example).

You can specify the protocol by the name provided (for example “ms_tcpip” or
"ms_msclient").

You can use a * to specify all NICs or all Protocols. For example:

  nvspbind.exe -d "Intel(R) 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection" *

  nvspbind.exe -e * ms_tcpip
