Thank you very much for using "EPSON CopyFactory".
This document explains the things not included in the Users' manual.


1. The users' manual
========================
Please refer to the Users' manual for the detailed instruction of "EPSON CopyFactory".
It is located in the same folder where this readme file is located, as "manual.pdf".
You need to have "Adobe Reader" installed to read the user's manual.


2. Support peripherals
==========================
EPSON CopyFactory support the following peripherals.

* In addition, you can use scanners and MFPs supported by EPSON Scan.
* EPSON CopyFactory cannot be used with the Transparency Unit or the Automatic Document Feeder.
Network Scanner: (Confirm operation for the following models)
  Expression 10000XL, GT-15000, GT-30000, GT-2500
* EPSON CopyFactory cannot be used with the Transparency Unit or the Automatic Document Feeder.
* Use "EPSON Scan Settings" to specify the network scanner.
* You can use one network scanner per model.
*When a scanner has both local and network connections, the "Connection" setting in "EPSON Scan Settings" is available.
*This software is not guaranteed to work with standard Windows scanner drivers.
Please use EPSON Scan (a scanner driver) supplied with your scanner, or download the latest scanner driver from the EPSON Web site.

3. HDD Setting
==================
This software requires the PC systems *1 which support the DMA mode of ATA-HDD with such setting enabled.
  *1: PC systems equipped with the chipset and HDD which can support ATA-DMA mode
      under WindowsXP.
There is a possibility that the printing result may be disturbed, if such setting is disabled.
If you encounter such situation, please simply change your HDD setting to the DMA mode.
This software acts normally, only with PC that is using the DMA mode.


4. Automatic skew correction function
=========================================
This function is for fine adjustment.
If your original document tilted with extremely larger degree of the angle to the edge of the 
scanner table, this function may not work correctly.


5. Automatic copy area detect function
==========================================
If your original document is same size with scanner table,
or if there is only a slight difference between the light and dark areas of the document,
the automatic copy area detect function may not work properly.
If this occurs, click the Preview button and manually resize the copy area.


6. Notice of installation
=============================
If you re-install EPSON Printer driver after "EPSON CopyFactory" is installed,
media name will not be shown in media selection list of "EPSON CopyFactory".
If you encounter this situation, please simply re-install "EPSON CopyFactory".


7. Notice of printer drivers
================================
When you use Epson Stylus Pro 10000CF, please use the following printer driver or later version.

Windows XP  : Ver.5.20


8. Notice of printer configurations
=======================================
If you change "ROLL MARG" value on the printer panel to "3mm",
the paper may be worn with printing head by condition of the paper.(e.g. Tight curl condition)
In this case you should change the value at "ROLL MARG" to "T/B15mm"(default value).


9. Notice of No-Margins print
====================================
Every margins don't become No-Margins when in these situations.
-"NO MARGIN" setting value on the printer panel isn't set for No-Margins.
 (e.g. "1 CUT" or "2 CUTS")
-"Cropping" function has been setting to "OFF" without "Auto Size Banner Print".

Printing length becomes short several millimeters, when it is set to "No-Margins".


10. Notice of scanner drivers
==========================================
Following error message may appares in case the driver of Perfection 1200 is updated from TWAIN4 to TWAIN5.

 "The scanner driver is not correctly installed.
  Please update the scanner driver."

Please update the scanner driver according to the following procedure in case the error message appears.
1. Open and choose "Imaging devices" from "Device Manager" in Windows system.
2. Double click "EPSON Perfection1200" to open its property.
3. Click "Driver" tab.
4. Click "Update Driver...".
5. Update the driver according to the message indicated.
