1.   Things You Need
     ---------------
	Before you start with the installation process make sure you have
	the following :

	   a.	 Ethernet Pocket Hardware Driver Disk.
	   b.	 Novell DOS ODI WORKSTATION SERVICES diskette(WSGEN).

2.   How To Install
     --------------
	You need following five files to install DOS ODI DRIVER.

	   a. LSL.COM		---- supported by Novell
	   b. EPMLID.COM	---- Novell DOS ODI Driver ,supported
				     by manufacturer
	   c. IPXODI.COM	---- supported by Novell
	   d. NETx.COM		---- supported by Novell
		   or
	      EMSNETx.EXE
		   or
	      XMSNETx.EXE

	   e. NET.CFG		---- optional,configuration file

	After boot your workstation, type following comments on the console:

	      LSL	      <Enter>
	      EPMLID	      <Enter>
	      IPXODI	      <Enter>
	      NETx	      <Enter>

	then,you can log in to the file server.

	Normally,  you will not need a NET.CFG file  because the EPMLID.COM
	can automatically detect hardware configurations. As a resault, you
	don't need to  assign the INT, PORT  etc parameters.  Although  you
	don't to assign parameters which has been described above,  you can
	still assign another parameters,for example, FRAME, NODE ADDRESS ..
	etc.  You  can	see  Netware 386  Installation	appendix E for more
	information about NET.CFG.

	Bellow is a sample NET.CFG file:

		LINK DRIVER EPMLID
		    Frame Ethernet_II
		    Frame Ethernet_802.3
		    Protocol IPX 0 Ethernet_802.3

3.   How To use DOS/ODI driver EPMLID.COM
     ------------------------------------

    Insert the ACCTON EtherPocket Hardware Driver Disk into drive A:,
    then type:

	A:\> \EPP\EN-EPP  ----> Set print port to EPP mode

	A:\> \NETWARE\DOSODI\EPMLID  [U] [8] [4] [T] [?]   <Enter>

	EPMLID	  -Installs the MLID
	EPMLID U  -Removes resident MLID from memory
	EPMLID 8  -Force Ether-Pocket using Bidirection (8 bits) mode
	EPMLID 4  -Force Ether-Pocket using No-Bidirection (4 bits) mode
	EPMLID T  -Increase delay time for 486/66 machine
	EPMLID ?  -Displays this help screen

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
