  Thank you for using Canon MP Navigator EX.
  This application software allows you to scan, save and print photos
  and documents. You can also edit images, or attach images to e-mail
  using this application software.

  This product includes the following items.

  Canon MP Navigator EX (hereafter called MP Navigator EX)
    This application software allows you to save, print, attach
    (e-mail) or edit scanned images easily.

  Uninstaller
    This deletes unnecessary files related to MP Navigator EX.

  MP Navigator EX ReadMe (Readme.txt)
    This file. It provides important information about 
    MP Navigator EX.
    When you are finished with installation, select [Start]-
    [(All)Programs]-[Canon Utilities]-[MP Navigator EX 1.0]-
    [MP Navigator EX Readme] to display the contents of this file.

Restriction on Use of MP Navigator EX
=====================================================================

  The following restrictions are placed on the use of this product.
  Pay attention to these restrictions before use.

  - Once you save the image after using the Auto Image Fix function,
    you cannot use the Auto Image Fix function again to the same image.
    Also, the Auto Image Fix function may not be available if the image
    is enhanced or corrected using software or digital camera 
    manufactured by other companies.

  - In the following cases, a question mark may be displayed 
    instead of an image. Images displayed as question marks cannot
    be used in this product.
       - The image file is not supported by software.
       - The image size is too large and cannot be displayed because of
         insufficient memory.
       - The image file is broken.

  - The followings are the supported TIFF files:
       - Uncompressed black and white binary files
       - Uncompressed RGB (8 bit each)
       - Uncompressed YCC (8 bit each)
       - Grayscale

  - Use the font size set by default in your operating system.
    Otherwise, the text may not be shown correctly in software.

  - In flatbed scanners with film scanning capability,
    if you copy from [Copy] dialog box in one-click mode 
    and select [Auto Mode] for [Document Type] in [Scan Settings],
    copy will be performed in the following settings.
       For Paper/Photographs:
         - [Color Mode]: [Color]
         - [Document Size]: [Letter]
         - [Resolution]: [300dpi]
       For Film:
         - [Color Mode]: [Color]
         - [Document Size]: [35mm Film]
         - [Resolution]: [1200dpi]

  - In flatbed scanners with film scanning capability,
    if you scan from [Save], [Print] and [Photo] dialog box 
    in one-click mode and select [Auto Mode] for [Document Type]
    in [Scan Settings], scanning will be performed 
    in the following settings.
       For Paper/Photographs:
         - [Color Mode]: [Color]
         - [Document Size]: [Auto Detect(Multiple Documents)]
         - [Resolution]: [300dpi]
       For Film:
         - [Color Mode]: [Color]
         - [Document Size]: [35mm Film]
         - [Resolution]: [1200dpi]

  - Mounted slides may not be scanned correctly if you are using
    film compliant model. In that case, start ScanGear and attach
    the cropping frame manually.

  - When you print multiple-page PDF file from Print Document 
    with Windows Vista installed computer, printing may be slow 
    depending on the machine.
    In that case, follow these steps and change settings.

  1. On the Windows taskbar, click [Start], 
     then select [Control Panel]
  2. Click [Printer]
  3. Right-click printer icon set as default, then click [Properties]
     Printer properties dialog box opens.
  4. Click [Advanced] tab
  5. Select [Spool print documents so program finished printing faster]
  6. Select [Start printing after last page is spooled]
  7. After printing is finished, select [Start printing immediately] 
     in [Advanced] tab and return to default settings

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
