Followings are the instructions on how to update your Smart and Friendly specific CD Recorders under Windows base environment: 1. Extract the downloaded firmware file to a floppy diskette or on your hard drive (make sure you know where the extracted files are located). 2. Under Windows 95, click on "Start, then run", and type in,"a:\wn3195dl", or the path where you extracted the firmware files to run 'wn3195dl'. 3. Click on the menu, "File, then Open". Select the Hex extension file and click "Ok". 4. Click on, "Drive" on the menu of the download program and select "Scan Drive". You should get "id=# of your recorder with the current firmware. 5. Click on, "Drive on the menu, then select the number id that matches your drive id#. 6. Click "Object" on the menu, select "Download, then without EDC". 7. Restart your computer 8. Done. Your recorder is updated with the new firmware. 9. To verify, click on "Start, setting, control panel, system, device manager, cdrom. Highlight your recorder, then click on properties. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
