PLEASE READ THIS INSTRUCTION BEFORE UPGRADING TO DELL DATA PROTECTION ACCESS v2.3:

Please upgrade your system in the following order:
1. Upgrade the Solid State Drive (SSD) firmware to this version (SRDC)
2. Upgrade Dell Data Protection Access to version 2.3

Your system may not boot if the above upgrade sequence is reversed. Please follow the DOS firmware upgrade instructions to upgrade the SSD firmware to recover your system.

WARNING: As with all firmware updates, it is strongly recommended that you backup or make copies of all important files before performing this update. This firmware update process is done entirely at your own risk. If performed correctly, there will be no loss of system or user data on the drive. However, if the firmware process is interrupted for any reason, your solid state drive may not function properly.

SRDC Windows based firmware update for LCT-256M3S
Attention:
1. Backup the Solid-State Drive.
2. Use AC Power.
 
Installation: 
1. Download and unzip LCT-256M3S_SRDC_FW Utility.zip to your desktop.
2. In the new LCT-256M3S_SRDC_FW Utility folder, locate and open the Windows folder.
3. Double click LCT-256M3S_SRDC_WIN.exe to start FW update process.
4. On the first screen, if the target SSD is not listed, select it and then Click "Update". 
5. The next screen is a warning message, it remind the risk and ask you backup important files. When you are ready to start the firmware update, please click "OK" to continue.
6. You will then come to the next screen to indicate "The update process needs to REBOOT your computer. Do you want to reboot NOW?".  It reminds you to close and save all important applications before reboot. Click "YES" to reboot the system. 
7. The system will reboot and load the firmware. Once the firmware update is complete(Screen will show FW update done), you can boot into Windows.
8.  To confirm the firmware update was successful, open Device manager -> open SSD -> click Properties -> choose hardware ID under Details and the firmware version "SRDC" should be listed.

SRDC Dos based firmware update for LCT-256M3S
Attention:
1. Backup the Solid-State Drive.
2. Use AC Power.
3. Support Chipset : Intel chipset only.
 
 
Installation: 
1. Download and unzip Firmware file SRDC.iso (ISO file format) to a known path.
2. Insert a blank CD-R disc into the R/W CD-ROM/DVD drive.
3. Burn the FW ISO image(SRDC.iso) onto the CD-R media using a software tool such as Roxio or Nero. 
4. Insert the CD-R(containing the ISO image) disc into the CD-ROM/DVD drive.   
5. Using the F12 option, boot system from CD/DVD/CDRW drive.
6. The next DOS screen will show the FW name in select item. Ensure targeted drive is selected  for firmware update and Press "Enter" to boot by CD-R disc.
7. The next screen is a warning message against possible risk and ask you backup important files. 
When you are ready to start the firmware update, press the "Y" key to continue.
8. Your system will now start updating the firmware. Once the firmware update is completed, firmware update completion message will be displayed (Screen will show firmware flash complete), and you can boot into Windows normally.
9. To confirm the firmware update was successful, open Device manager -> open SSD -> click Properties -> choose hardware ID under Details and the firmware version "SRDC" should be listed.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
