Dell Data Protection | Access (DDP|A) is an integrated end point security management suite,
providing for seamless data security and authentication. It allows you to authenticate using
a fingerprint, smartcard, contactless smartcard or password. Pre-Windows can be configured to
unlock self-encrypting drives upon authentication.

==========================================================================================

Installation Requirements:

	Prerequisite Software:
	Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1

IF YOU HAVE A 64 BIT OPERATING SYSTEM YOU MUST NOT INSTALL THIS PACKAGE.
VISIT http://support.dell.com/ to obtain the 64 bit version of this software.

	Optional Hardware:
		Self-Encrypting Drives:
		·	all TCG Opal-compliant SEDs or Seagate DriveTrust drives shipping from Dell

Installation Procedure:
Run the setup and choose between a complete installation or drivers and
	middleware only.

Command Line Installation Options:
Open the command line and navigate to the installation folder containing setup.exe.

	Interactive installation
		setup.exe

	Silent installation:
		setup.exe -install -silent

	Interactive uninstall:
		setup.exe

	Silent uninstall:
		setup.exe -uninstall -silent

	Other options:
-headless is an option for installation that will not create any desktop or start menu
short cuts. This may be used for client endpoint machines that will be managed
remotely with EMBASSY Remote Administration Server (ERAS).

-systray is only an option if the –headless option is selected. This will install a
systray icon that will launch the enrollment and configuration wizard when clicked.
After enrolling and configuring, the icon will permanently disappear from the system tray.
If a headless install is performed without the –systray option, the enrollment wizard
will launch on login for every user until each user is enrolled and the platform is
configured. I.e. setup.exe –silent –install –headless – systray

Configuration:
DDP|A can be configured locally to set up fingerprint, smartcard, contactless
smartcard or password authentication. This can be done by following the steps in the
interactive wizard that appears the first time the software is run, or by running the
security wizard to set up secure access options at the top right of the DDP|A Window.

DDP|A can be remotely managed and configured by using EMBASSY Remote Administration
	Server,	available through Dell.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Firewalls and Antispyware Software
Dell Data Protection | Access installs and configures several key enhancements to the
client operating system. Those changes might be detected as suspicious by an anti-virus
software or local firewall and blocked, preventing successful installation and stable
operation of DDP|A. We recommend temporarily suspending (disabling) local anti-virus,
anti-spyware or firewalls during DDP|A installation. Alternatively, one can "White label"
or pre-approve the DDP|A software installer and services with the anti-virus and firewall
in use before running the DDP|A installation.

If you have a firewall configured to block access then you must add the following list
of applications to the list of applications that are authorized access. Failure to
grant access to the following applications may prevent DDP|A from installing or executing
	properly.
		- Microsoft Windows Installer - %WINDIR%\system32\MSIExec.exe
		- NTRU TSS - %PROGRAMFILES%\NTRU Cryptosystems\NTRU TCG Software Stack\bin\
			tcsd_win32.exe
		- DDP|A - %PROGRAMFILES%\Dell\Dell Data Protection\Access\DellAccess.exe

Private Information Manager:

Private Information Manager (PIM) features a password manager for securely storing and
automatically retrieving login information. Additionally, users can store sensitive
personal and credit card information safely for user-managed or automatic completion of
online forms. Private Information Manager is compliant with Trusted Computing Group (TCG)
specifications and utilizes Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for its secure operations.

To access PIM, navigate to the Program Files folder and then
	Dell\Dell Data Protection\Access\Advanced\Wave\Private Information Manager
Run "Private Information Manager.exe". You can create a shortcut through the right
click menu and move it to your desktop to easily access PIM.

PIM requires your TPM to be activated and owned, you can do this through DDP|A after
selecting Advanced -> Devices -> Trusted Platform Module (TPM).
