Updating EMX-MCP61S-AVL

1. Create a clean bootable Floppy Disk Drive. You can create a boot up disk thru windows XP Pro by formatting the drive A: and select "Format and Create Boot Up Disk".Please use a good quality new floppy disk to minimize the risk of the BIOS flash failing due to corrupted files on the floppy. 

2. Once the DOS boot disk has been created, Copy the MCP61S17.BIN, awdflash.exe and update.bat into the separate floppy disk drive.

3. Boot from the created DOS Boot disk.

4. Once inside the command prompt, remove the DOS Boot Disk and insert the disk with BIN file, BAT file and flash utility.

5. Execute the BAT file by typing "a:update", this will flashed the BIOS automatically.

6. Check the BIOS version now.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
