Thank you for choosing the Tally T8024 Color Laser Printer.

If you experience problems with this printer, please check 
the User's Guide and this document for any information that
may pertain to your problem. If this information does not help,
you can contact Tally Technical Support.

This file includes additions and changes to the User's Guide. 
It also includes important upgrade, troubleshooting and 
compatibility information. Please read this information before 
using the Tally T8024 Color Laser Printer.

1) Installation Instructions

PPD installation instructions for Macintosh OS 10.2.2 or later
------------------------------------------------------------------

Installing the PPD files
---------------------------

1.  Insert the T8024 Auto Installer CD into the computers CD_ROM drive.
2.  Double click the displayed T8024 CD-ROM icon.
3.  Select the desired language folder and open the Mac OSX folder. 
4.  Double click the T8024 OSX Installer.
    The installer installs the PPD files in the following folders.
    - Files in English: /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj
    - Files in French: /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/fr.lproj
    - Files in German: /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/de.lproj
    - Files in Italian: /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/it.lproj
    - Files in Spanish: /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/es.lproj
5.  The Installer requires that you type administrator name and password. 
    Enter the administrator name and password in the "Authenticate" dialogue.
6.  The "T8024 OSX Installer" window will appear.  Click "Install."
7.  Click "Quit."


Adding the Printer
---------------------------

1.  Select "Applications" folder, and then "Utilities" folder, 
    and double click the "Print Center" icon.
2.  The "Printer List" window will appear.  Click "Add."
3.  For setting up AppleTalk printing, 
  3.1  From the pop-up menu, select "AppleTalk" and the printer zone that has the
       printer you want.
  3.2  From the printer list, select the printer.
  3.3  "Auto Select" is typically the default in the "Printer Model" pop-up menu.  
       If not, choose "Auto Select" from the pop-up menu.
  3.4  Click "Add."  The printer you added appears in the printer list window.
4.  For setting up IP printing, 
  4.1  From the pop-up menu, select "IP Printing."
  4.2  Enter the IP address of the printer in the "Printer's Address" field.
  4.3  From the "Printer Model" pop-up menu, choose "Other…" 
       Make sure that the following is highlighted under the volume in which 
       the PPD files were installed.
       - Files in English: /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj
       - Files in French: /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/fr.lproj
       - Files in German: /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/de.lproj
       - Files in Italian: /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/it.lproj
       - Files in Spanish: /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/es.lproj
  4.4  Select the PPD files and click "Choose."
  4.5  Click "Add."  The printer you added appears in the printer list window.
5.  From the menu bar, select "Printers" and "Show Info."
6.  From the pop-up menu, select "Installable options" and specify the options 
    installed on the printer.
