Intelliprint 8024 Electronic Library CD-ROM SOFTWARE folder - SOFTWARE.TXT ----- The SOFTWARE folder contains printer driver and utility software designed for your Intelliprint 8024. This document describes the contents of each folder on this CD-ROM. ----- FOLDER CONTENTS o DRIVERS folder This folder contains the drivers necessary to print to your Intelliprint 8024 from Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, and Intel Windows NT 3.5.1 and Windows NT 4.0 systems and Windows 2000 NT systems. Refer to DRIVERS.TXT in this folder for more information about the driver software. o NETPORT folder This folder contains the network port software to print directly from Windows 95, Windows 98 systems, and Intel Windows NT 4.0 systems, to the Intelliprint 8024. Refer to README.TXT in the NETPORT folder for additional information on this software. o PFDLOAD folder This folder contains Printer Firmware Downloader, which is a Windows based utility, to easily download firmware updates to your Intelliprint 8024. Refer to README.TXT for more information on the Printer Firmware Downloader utility. o UNIXSW folder This folder contains TallyGenicom UNIX Printing Software. TallyGenicom UNIX Printing Software is an enhanced print filter (both command line interface and GUI) and network socket driver for taking advantage of all of the printing features in the Intelliprint 8024 and other PostScript printers. Installation kits are provided for several operating systems in a single archive (tar) file. Refer to INSTALL.PDF in this folder for installation information. o USB This folder contains Universal Serial Bus (USB) port drivers required to use the printer's USB connector with Windows 95/98. Windows 2000 and XP already contain (USB) port drivers for printers. Additionally, a print driver is included for Windows 95/98/2000/XP. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
