================================================================================ DECONFT TOOL ================================================================================ Pre-requiste: ------------- - Download the ActiveTcl from the following site http://www.activestate.com/store/download.aspx?prdGUID=f0cd6399-fefb-466e-ba17-220dcd6f4078 Download "Windows AS package" and install it to c:\tcl directory. Note: Keep all the default option while installing. To Install Deconft Tool: ------------------------ 1. Invoke TCL interpreter. Start->run-> enter "tclsh" 2. Change working directory to release directory path. 3. Load deconft.dll into TCL environment as given below % load deconft.dll This would load the deconf commands into TCL environment. 4. Enter "bchelp" to know the list of commands supported by the tool. Note: All deconf.exe commands are identical except they are prefixed by "bc". Ex: help -> bchelp getver -> bcgetver To run TCL deconft script: -------------------------- - On the TCL shell prompt to load scripts type % source XXXXX.tcl where, XXXXX.tcl is a TCL script file. We include two sample TCL scripts, "devinfo.tcl" and "parsing.tcl". Deconft Tool command usage: --------------------------- Detailed description on commands supported in the tool is provided in the "deconft.pdf" file. ================================================================================ PLX PCI Bridge Access TOOL ================================================================================ Pre-requiste: ------------- - PortTalk driver installed To install PortTalk driver: --------------------------- - Manually copy the porttalk.sys file to '/system32/drivers'. To run the PLX-PCI Bridge Access Tool: -------------------------------------- - On the command prompt, enter the commands to access the PLX PCI configuration. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
