A) NDIS/4 Driver Installation for Windows 98
   =========================================
   1. Plug adapter into one of the Master PCI slots of your PC.

   2. Turn the PC power ON then boot from Windows 98.

   3. Windows 98 will prompt "PCI Ethernet Controller" in "New Hardware
      Found" dialog box and "Realtek RTL8029 Ethernet Adapter and Compatibles"
      in "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.

   4. Select "Search for the best for your device.[Recommended]" from the
      "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click "Next".

   5. Insert the Adapter Driver Diskette in your floppy drive.

   6. Click off "Floppy disk drives". Click on the "Specify a location"
      and type "A:\WIN98", then click "Next >" button.

   7. Windows 98 will prompt "32-Bit IO Mode PCI Ethernet Adapter" in
      "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.

   8. Click "Next >" button and Windows starts to copy files from Windows
      98 CD-ROM to your hard disk.

   9. Click "Finish" button from "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.

  10. Remove the Adapter Driver Diskette from your floppy drive.

  11. Restart your computer to take effect the network function.

B) Update Bundle RTL8029 Driver for Windows 98
   ===========================================
   Windows 98 has bundled Realtek RTL8029 driver that also works on the 32 Bit
   IO Mode PCI Ethernet Adapter. But the WIN98 bundle RTL8029 driver version
   is probably too old to be unstable. You had better update driver with 32 Bit
   IO Mode PCI Ethernet Adapter Driver Diskette.

   1. Plug adapter into one of the Master PCI slots of your PC.

   2. Turn the PC power on then boot from Windows 98.

   3. Windows 98 will prompt "PCI Ethernet Controller" in "New Hardware Found"
      dialog box and then the "Realtek RTL8029 Ethernet Adapter and Compatibles"
      dialogue box will appear. The system will automatically copy bundle driver.

   4. When the driver installation is completed, Windows 98 will prompt "Do you
      want to restart your computer now ?" then click on "No".

   5. Open System Properties. To do this, you can :
      Right click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, then select
      "Properties" or Double click on the "System" icon in Control Panel.

   6. Select the "Device Manager" tab.

   7. Double click "Network adapters".

   8. Select the "Realtek RTL8029 Ethernet Adapter and Compatibles" device.

   9. Click "Properties".

  10. Select the "Driver" tab.

  11. Click "Update Driver...".

  12. Click "Next" in the "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog box.

  13. Insert the Adapter Driver Diskette in your floppy drive.

  14. Select the "Search for a better driver than the one your device is
      using now. [Recommended]" item, then click on "Next".

  15. Click off "Floppy disk drives". Click on the "Specify a location"
      and type "A:\WIN98", then click "Next >" button.

  16. Windows 98 will search the updated driver, and find the "32 Bit IO
      Mode PCI Ethernet Adapter" device, and the location of the driver
      is "A:\WIN98\E32ND3.INF".

  17. Click "Next" in the "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog box and
      Windows 98 will start copying the updated driver files and the other
      networking compnents.

  18. When Windows has finished installing the updated driver, click on "Finish".

  19. Click "Close" in the "32 Bit IO Mode PCI Ethernet Adapter Properties"
      dialog box.

  20. Click "Close" in the "System Properties" dialog box.

  21. Reboot the Windows 98 by yourself.
